The Sanitary Sewer Board of the City of Jeffersonville met m regular session m Y
Room in the City county Building, Jeffersonville, Indiana on the 12th day of May, 2003.
Mayor Tom Galligan called the meeting to order 4:10 p.m. Board member Jeffrey Caldwell was
present. Also present were Mark Sneve, Brian Dixon, Bob Miller, Tim Crawford, Robert Miller and
Phyllis Lowe.
The agenda was presented to the board for approval. Jeffrey Caldwell moved to approve the agenda as
presented, seconded by Mayor Galligan, passing unanimously.
The claims were presented to the board for approval. Jeffrey Caldwell moved to approve the claims as
presented, seconded by Mayor Galligan, passing unanimously.
The minutes of April 28, 2003 were presented to the board for approval. Jeffrey Caldwell moved to
approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Mayor Galligan, passing unardmously.
Phyllis Lowe addressed the ongoing sewer backup problem at her address on Lynudate. Ms. Lowe
demanded the City reimburse her in excess of $10,000.00 for the clean up and replacement of her
valuables. Ms. Lowe did not produce receipts or a breakdown of her damaged items to be reimbursed.
The board requested information from Brian Dixon and Tim Crawford regarding the incident. Tim
Crawford advised the board that the city has cleaned out the lines and specifically the Lynndale area in
August 2002. Tim Crawford and Brian Dixon believe it was not a city problem and the homeowner was
at fault. Pictures were presented to the board showing ongoing water and mold damage. The board
decided the city was not at fault and advised Ms Lowe how to handle the problem.
Mark Sneve presented the board with the Summary of Ongoing Public Works Projects and the Review
of EMC's Operations for the Month of March 2003.
Mark Sneve presented a memorandum regarding the new CSO notification rule and discussed it with the
board.
Tim Crawford presemed the Monthly Operations Report for the Month of March 2003. Tim presented
the price quotes on the three clarifiers to be cleaned and painted. The Mayor advised Tim to move
forward with the project.
