RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTINUED TAX ABATEMENT WHEREAS, Amatrol, Inc., by a vote of the Common Council and contained in the minutes, was granted a ten (10) year tax abatement for improvements to real property on April 5, 1993, by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, but not assigned a Resolution number; and WHEREAS, because Amatrot, Inc., had the mistaken belief that it had no obligation to apply further for its annual tax abatement; and WHEREAS, due to Amatrol, Inc.'s, mistaken belief regarding its tax abatement, it did not file an application for deduction from the assessed valuation for 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1997 tax years within thirty (30) days of its first Notice of Assessment to Land and Improvements from the Township Assessor, which it received in 1994; and WHEREAS, Amatrol, Inc., received a tax bill for 1994, 1995, and 1996 taxes due and payable in 1995, 1996, and 1997, and has caused said taxes to be paid, even though a portion of those taxes were attributable to improvements for which Amatrol, Inc., received a tax abatement; and WHEREAS, there exists no reason for Amatrol, Inc.'s, tax abatement not to continue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE THAT IT SPECIFICALLY FINDS AS FOLLOWS: That the tax abatements granted to Amatrol, Inc., should continue. o That the tax abatement on improvements to real property of Amatrol, Inc., should be treated as if it is in its fourth year of the original ten-year abatement period.
