A RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEW CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE
CONTRACT wITH INSIGHT COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY, L.P.
WHEREAS, Insight Communications Company, L.P. ("Insight"), took an
assignment of a franchise contract to operate a cable television system in the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana, specifically, the Franchise Contract dated August 26, 1970; and
WHEREAS, on August 12, 1996, Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana ("the Council"), extended the Franchise Contract until February 26, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Council further extended the Franchise Contract until March 26,
1997; and
WHEREAS, the Council and Insight have agreed upon terms for a new franchise
contract to allow Insight to operate a cable franchise system in Jeffersonville which new
franchise contract is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated by reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Franchise Contract attached
hereto as Exhibit A is hereby approved and ratified, and Mayor Thomas R. Galligan is
hereby authorized to execute said Franchise Contract on behalf of the City of
Jeffersonville.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
