A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE DEVELOPMENT
OF A JEFFERSONVILLE SPORTS COMPLEX
AND AQUATICS CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana ("the City") is without adequate
public sporting facilities; and
WHEREAS, the public aquatics facilities in the City are close to obsolescence;
and
WHEREAS, the Clark County Riverfront Development Corporation, a qualified
§501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation has expressed an interest in developing a public
Sports Complex and Aquatics Center for the City; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana ("the
Council") believes development of a public Sports Complex and Aquatics Center is in
the best interest of the citizens of Jeffersonville;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Council supports the
development of a public Sports Complex and Aquatics Center for the use and benefit of
the citizens of the City of Jeffersonville;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clark
County Riverfront Development Corporation is hereby approved and authorized to
pursue development of a public Sports Complex and Aquatics Center on behalf of the
City of Jeffersonville.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
