SECOND METHADONE CLINIC IN THE CITY ~F JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, already has one methadone
clinic which is enough to service the needs of Jeffersonville,
and
WHEREAS, the proposed location of the second ~linic is in an area that
is plagued by drug trafficking, several rental housing units
and taverns which generate many neighborhood complaints and
police calls, NOW THEREFORE
LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF j~'FERSONVILLE,
SECTION 1 -
SECTION 2 -
For the reasons stated above, the Common Council of the
City of Jeffersonville is strongly opposed to the
establishment of a second methadone clinic at the proposed
location at the intersection of M~rket and Pearl streets.
The Co,mnon Council of the City of Jeffersonville hereby
requests that the Jeffersonville City Attorney forward a
copy of this resolution to the appropriate state licensing
boards and other state, local, and federal agencies that
may have jurisdiction over such clinics for the purpose of
notifying said agencies as to our opposition.
