HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-15-2006 ~\ {\ , MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA NOVEMBER 15, 2006 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson McCauley and City Engineer Miller. Also present were: Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney Merkley, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Street Commissioner Ellis, Assistant Police Chief Lovan, Redevelopment Director Cahill, Councilperson Barbara Wilson, Sewage Manager Johnson, Personnel Director Kim Calabro, Parks Director Poff, IT Director Hardy, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carried unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of November 1, 1006 and i November 8, 2006 as presented, seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carried unanimously. HOUSE MOVING-EDWARDS HOUSE MOVERS Engineer Miller made the motion to approve Stephen Edwards moving a house from 2815 East Tenth Street to 1612 Lee Street, seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carried unanimously. The mile and a half move is scheduled for a Saturday morning at daybreak. RESIDENT ONLY P ARKING-236 GRAHAM STREET Don Swinney appeared before the Board in regard to resident only parking in his block of Graham Street. He said he got approval eleven years ago for the resident only parking for the whole block. He said Jeff Boat employees are parking in those spaces again so the homeowners began putting tags on the cars. Assistant Police Chief Lovan asked that the residents not put tags of their own on the vehicles and let the city and police department handle it. Mayor Waiz said he would take this issue under advisement and come up with a solution. {., " .:,.::. , '" (' INTERIOR DESIGN FEES- Councilperson McCauley made the motion to approve the Interior Design fees not to exceed $1,300.00 for the Ken Ellis Center to be paid to The Estopinal Group, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. RESIDENT ONLY P ARKING AT 724 OHIO A VENUE Engineer Miller made the motion to approve Resident Only parking for Suzanne Corrick at 724 Ohio Avenue pending police approval, seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carried unanimously. She said this has been an ongoing problem with a neighbor who is a mechanic who has various vehicles sitting on the street and in front of her home at various times. The fee is $100.00 per year.
