HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-26-2006MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA APRIL 26, 2006 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson McCauley. Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Assistant Police Chief Lovan, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Street Commissioner Ellis, Councilperson Sellers, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director Dmry, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney Merkley, Parks Director Poff, Personnel Director Calabro, Councilpers°n Wilson, Redevelopment Director Cahill, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carried unanimously. AWARD OF BID Councilperson McCauley made the motion to accept the bid of the Drew Corporation for the stoplight at Veteran's Parkway and Woehrle Road in the amount of $96,708.67, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. The Other bid was from Trans Tech in the amount of$110,537.00. ROAD CLOSURE Conncilperson Sellers asked the Board for approval to close Riverside Drive in front of Jimmy's Bar and Grill and the Overlook from 1¢-3 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2006 for a rally. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the closure, seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carded unanimously. PHONE SERVICE AND EQUIPMENT CONTRACT FOR CITY HALL Building Commissioner Segraves presented three quotes to the Board. They were from S.D. Cole in the amount of $40,749.00, SBC in the amount of $42,525.29, and E&H Integrated Systems in the amount of $41,049.08. Councilperson McCauley made the motion to take the bids under advisement, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. CHANGE ORDER #11 FOR CITY HALL Councilperson McCauley made the motion to approve Change Order #11 in the amount of $139,241.00 and striking out the twenty days additional completion time, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:20 a.m.,seconded by Councilperson McCauley and carried unanimously.
