RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVlL~E, INDIANA
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FUND APPLICATION
TO THE INDIANA HOUSING FINANCE AUTHORITY
AND ADDRESSING RELATED MATTERS
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, recognizes the need to stim~ ulate growth and to maintain
affordable housing within its corporate limits; and
· WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, authorizes the Indiana
Housing Finance Authority to provide grants to local units of government '~o meet the affordable housing and
community development needs of Iow and moderate income persons; an~l
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, has conducted or w conduct public hearings prior to the
submission of an application to the Indiana Housing Finance Authority, s~id public hearings to assess the
housing, public facilities, and economic needs of iow and moderate inCOmr e residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of jeffersonville, ndiana, that:
1. The Mayor is authorized to prepare and submit an application foi grant funding, to address
conditions relating to the establishment of a mass shelter in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The City will
contract with Haven House Services, Inc., as sub-recipient, to e~ecute and administer a resultant
grant including requisite general administration and project managemen, contracts and agreements
pursuant to regulations of the Indiana Housing Finance Authorit~ and the United States Department
of Housing and Urban Development.
2. The City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, hereby commits the requisite local funds in the amount of Fifty
Thousand Dollars ($50,000) comprised of donated services to sOb-recipient as leverage funds for
said program, such commitment to be contingent upon receipt o! HDF funding from the Indiana
Housing Finance Authority.
