HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-03-2005MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA AUGUST 3, 2005 In Mayor Waiz's absence, City Engineer Miller called the meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Sellers and~ Building Commissioner 'Segraves sitting in for City Engineer Miller. Also present were: Street Commissioner Ellis, Fire Chief Miles, Asst. Police Chief Lovan, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director Dmry, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, Parks Director Poff, Personnel Director Calabro, Redevelopment Director Cahill, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Councilperson Sellers made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Building Commissioner Segraves and carded unanimously. Building Commissioner Segraves made the motion to apProve the minutes of 7-27-05, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carded unanimously. NEW BUSINESS BIDS-FUEL Engineer Miller opened fuel bids from Makowsky Oil and Petroleum Traders. They are as follows' Makowsky Oil: Lead Free 89 Octane 1.716 Lead Free 92 Octane 1.7817 Low Sulfur Undyed Diesel 1.69192 Delivery Fee $100.00 Petroleum Traders: Lead Free 89 Octane 1.6844 Lead Free 92 Octane 1.7443 Diesel 1.7165 Councilperson Sellers made the motion to take the bids under advisement, seconded by Building Commissioner Segraves and carded unanimously. COMMENTS' Street Commissioner Ellis said George Trembly suggested that the sPeed limit of a portion of Highway 62 be lowered from 55 m.p.h, to 45 m.p.h. The area is from Vissing Park to the City limit. Councilperson Sellers made the motion to approve the speed limit change, seconded by Building Commissioner Segraves and carded unanimously. Parks DireCtor poff thanked Bob Miller, the Police Department, and the Fire Department for making the RiverStage a success this year. Personnel Director Calabro said there is a Safety meeting at 11 '00 a.m. today. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Councilperson Sellers made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:47 a.m., seconded by Building Commissioner Sellers and carded unanimously.
