OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
NOVEMBER 10, 2004
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the mil those members present were:
Building Commissioner Segraves sitting in for Councilperson Sellers and Engineer Miller.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Ellis, Police Chief
Ashabranner, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Fire Chief Miles, Redevelopment Director Cahill,
Coordinator Davis, Personnel Director Calabro, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawforcl, Animal
Shelter Director Wilder, Parks Director Poff, City Attorney Merkley and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 11-03-04, seconded by Building
· x Commissioner Segraves and carded unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
TREE REMOVAL ~'
Gage Donohue appeared before the Board in regard to a large dead 0:ce at the comer of Watt
Street and Chestnut Street that needs to be removed. Mayor Waiz told Street Commissioner
Ellis to call Curry Tree Service to remove it.
NEIGHBORHOOD PROBLEMS
Frank Killebrew asked for police patrols in his area of Mary Street. He said there is a
contractor doing work there that seems to be dragging On leaving little access to the
neighborhOod. He said no blacktop has been done except on Myrtle Street. Engineer Miller
said he will call Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz about the progress being made and will schedule a
meeting at the site. Mr. Killebrew said there is a lot of mud on Hamburg Pike also.
CREEKSTONE RIDGE DENTENTION FACILITIES
Alan Applegate appeared before the Board in regard to the maintenance of the detention
facilities and the deed acceptance in Creekstone Ridge Subdivision. Engineer Miller said the
contractor is required to take care of the detention basin for five years. After some
discussion, Attorney Merkley said he would check into this and bring back to the Board next
week.
COMMENTS:
Street Commissioner Ellis said the stop sign at Chesmut Street and Spring Street needs to be put back
up. Mayor Waiz said to put it back up.
Mayor Waiz said a tree blocks the stop sign at Bennett and Bartholomew. The
Tree will be trimmed and "stop" will be painted on the road.
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury requested two cats from the animal shelter for a rodent problem;
Coordinator Davis said the sof~ware has been ordered for the police department.
Animal Shelter Director Wilder said a truck is needed to pick up deer.
Nellie Knowland said a tree blocks the streetlight at the comer of Fairview and Spring Street. Street
Commissioner Ellis will have it trimmed,
Parks Director Poff said "Light up Christmas" is scheduled for Thursday, November 18, 2004 from6-8

-Chief Ashabranner said his computer program should help on fuel consumption. He has ordered some
pieces for the police cars that should help save fuel on a trial basis.
Mayor Waiz asked all department heads to write down any cell phone problems on a report sheet.
There being no further discussion to come bet'om the Board the motion was made by Engineer Miller to
