HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-22-2004MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA DECEMBER 22, 2004 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Sellers and Engineer Miller. Also present were: Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Ellis, Police Officer Pavey, Assistant Parks Director Couts, Personnel Director Calabro, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawtbrd, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Parks Director Poff, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, City Attorney Merkley and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. Councilperson Sellers made the motion to approve the minutes of 12-15-04 as presented, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT City Attorney Merkley told the Board that Sellersburg Stone wants the City to enter a Hold Harmless Agreement with them. Engineer Miller said the City buys blacktop and gravel from than but not a huge amount. He doesn't see the need for a Hold Harmless Agreanent. Engineer Miller made the motion to deny the request for a Hold Harmless Agreement with Sellersburg Stone, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. COMMENTS Street Commissioner Ellis thanked Engineer Miller for allowing him to use some of his men in the snow event. Personnel Director Calabro said Attorney and Consultant Mitch Ripley has sent a draft copy of the Policy and Procedure Manual. All department heads need to look it over and give any suggestions or changes that they think need to be made. Personnel Director Calabro said the 2-day visit with department heads made by Dan Kramer with Municipal Insurance Alliance went very well.
