OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
December 29, 2004
Mayor Rob Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the
roll, those present were City Engineer Bob Miller and Councilperson Connie
Sellers. ~
Present were: Planning and Zoning Director Chester Hicks, Vehicle
Maintenance Director Mike Dmry, Police Chief Rick Ashabranner,
Personnel Director Kim Calabro, Building Commissioner Russ Seagraves,
Redevelopment Director Barry Cahill, Fire Department Representatives Rob
Jackson and Dennis Dierking, Animal Shelter Operations Coordinator Roy
Gartelman, Street Department Commissioner Ron Ellis, Information
Technology Director Rich Davis, City Attorney Les Merkley, and Deputy
Clerk Barbara Hollis.
There were no minutes, claims, or payroll presented.
OLD BUSINESS
There was no old business.
NEW BUSINESS
FIRE DAMAGED PROPERTY
Building Commissioner Russ Segraves reviewed his attempts to contact Ms.
Geraldine Moss, owner of fire-damaged property at 434 Mechanic Street.
He has called several times, left a note on the door, and sent registered mail.
He has received no return on the mail or returned calls. Commissioner
Segraves presented pictures of the property. Following all discussion,
Engineer Miller made the motion to hand carry a citation to Ms. Geraldine
Moss, second by Councilperson Sellers, passing unanimously.
COMMENTS
Police Chief Ashabranner says Happy New Year to all and a big thank you
to Street Commissioner Ron Ellis whose department did a fantastic job
during the recent storm. Chief Ashabranner has traveled the surrounding
communities and Jeffersonville "shines" above the other communities.
Personnel Director Klm Calabro announced there will be a safety meeting
next Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Mayors Conference Room.
Vehicle Maintenance Director Mike Drury said the mechanics deserve a pat
on the back for all the hours worked keeping the equipment on the road
during the storm.
Mayor Waiz says thank you to all department heads as all worked hard. It
was a bad snow followed by sub-zero temperatures. It was a tough job. The
streets look good.
As there was no further business to/c~me-b~re the Board of Public Works
and SafetY, the meeting was adj~ed~M.
