HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-03-2004MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA NOVEMBER 3, 2004 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Sellers and Engineer Miller. Also present were: Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Ellis, Police Chief Ashabranner, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Fire Chief Miles, Redevelopment Director Cahill, Coordinator Davis, Personnel Director Calabro, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Parks Director Po£f, City Attorney Merkley and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 10-27-04, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carded unanimously. OLD BUSINESS NONE NEW BUSINESS NONE COMMENTS: Police Chief Ashabranner said a Hidden Entrance sign is needed on Buttonwood Drive near the Lily Run patio homes. City Engineer Miller said he got a call requesting that the lights in the median on Court Avenue be repainted. Mayor Waiz said Cinergy is going to paint them. He said a meeting is scheduled with a light fixture company on new bases for the lights. Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford said the leaves being dumped in the pit at the plant are causing a problem. He said they need to be dumped in a better area. Engineer Miller said people are still putting'leaves in the gutters. He suggested that a new ordinance be adopted about bagging the leaves or putting !n cans. Administrator Davis said the software has been approved for Building Commissioner Segraves. Animal Shelter Director Wilder said the ADA compliance has been done at the shelter except for the toilet. He said the air circulation system i~ being completed and he is going to have the inside of the shelter painted. Personnel Director Calabro Said ADA training is scheduled for Tuesday, November 9, 2004 on the 3'~ Floor. The times are: 8:30-11:45 am. and11:30-4:5 pm. All department heads and supervisors are to attend. Personnel Director Calabro received the 2004 Directory of Network Provider books for Humana. Parks Director Poff said he is getting Warder Park expedited. Police Chief Ashabranner asked Engineer Miller about the status of the parking lot at Corydon Porter. Mayor Waiz asked Engineer Miller to get bids on doing the work. Street Commissioner Ellis said the next auction for cars starts November 4, 2004 and will close on November 14, 2004. Animal Shelter Director Wilder said he would collect shelter shares from the other municipalities for 2004. Nellie Knowland requested that potholes be filled in on Gq'ant, Fairview and Magnolia Avenue.
