HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-25-2004 P UBLIC MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA AUGUST 25, 2004 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. find on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Sellers and City Engineer Miller. Also present were: Building Commissioner Segraves, Fire Chief Miles, Vehicle Maintenance Director Dmry Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford .~olice Chief Ashabranner, Administrator Davis, Redevelopment D~rector Cah~ll, Ammal Shelter D~rector W~lder, Persmmel D~rector Calabro, Planmng and Zoning Director Padgett, City Attorney Merkley ahd Deputy Clerk Mayfield. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the bayroll, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. LYNNDALE DRIVE Mayor Waiz said he and Fire Chief Miles have lookectl at the location between Lynndale Drive and Lafayette Square Aparm~ents. Fire Chief Miles said he would like to reassess the location before making a decision. Engineer Miller m~tde the motion to table until research is done on the ownership of the property and the Fire Chief makes his recommendation, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. BOY SCOUT BIKE EVENT Mary Kramer appeared before the Board in regard to t,he 3rd Annual Bike Event on October 16, 2004 at Warder Park. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the bike event on October 16, 2004, seconded by Councilperson Sellers ~.and carried unanimously. 13TM STREET AND DUNCAN AVENUE CLOSURE Aaron Pierce with Hussung Mechanical asked the Bond's approval to close 13th Street at Duncan Avenue to lay a sewer line on Wednesday of r~ext week. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the street closure on Wednesday, S~ptember 1, 2004, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. Mr. Pierce was told to notify Central Alarm and the Police Department. COMMENTS: Street Department employee Louie Galligan said a, CDL driver has resigned. Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury said he migh{ have a position in his department open also. Personnel Director Calabro said she is in the process of scheduling flu shots for September. Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford said theioutbuilding at the plant will be cleaned out and he needs the city's property removed from it. Animal Shelter Director Wilder said the dumpster ~t the shelter has lost it's bottom. City Attorney Merkley distributed ADA agreemen}s to department heads. He asked that they follow the time frames closely. ~ There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by City Engineer i1:00 a.m., seconded by Cout~cilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
