A RESOLUTION STATING VARIOUS MONIES NOT BE SPENT
FOR THE ENTIRE BUDGET YEAR 1999
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville (the "Council")
was required to appropriate $300,000.00 in the Water line item of the 1999 Common
Council Budget to pay for fire hydrant rental and other water charges; and
WHEREAS, after the 1999 budget was fixed by the Indiana State Board of Tax
Commissioners, the Indiana Utilities Regulatory Commission (the "IURC") approved
placing the water hydrant rental charges, on a pro-rata basis, on water bills of all
Jeffersonville water users; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the IURC's approval, only $90,000.00 of the
$300,000.00 is needed in the 1999 budget; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best financial interest of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana
that the balance of $210,000.00 remaining in the Water line item of the 1999 Common
Council budget not be spent for the year 1999; and
WHEREAS, the balance remaining in the Water line item of the 1999 Common
Council budget in the amount of $210,000.00 is hereby considered to be surplus money
to be returned to the General Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Common Council of th~
City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, that the total amount of $210,000.00 remaining in the
Water line item of the 1999 Common Council budget will not be spent and shall
immediately be returned to the General Fund.
