HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-03-2003MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLICWORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA NOVEMBER 3, 2003 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll, those present were City Engineer Bob Miller and Councilperson Denny Frantz. Present were: Planning and Zoning Director Chris Padgett, Animal Shelter Director Harry Wilder, Wastewater Treatment Director Tim Crawford, Vehicle Maintenance Director Mike Dmry, Police Detective Kevin Morlan Street Commissioner Marvin Grant, Personnel Director Cissy Ellis, Redevelopment Director Gayle Robinson, and Deputy Clerk Barbara Hollis. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz. Mayor Galligan asked if there was anyone on the payroll that had not gone through the Personnel Director, or that he does not know about? As there was no response, the motion passed unanimously. RESIDENTIAL PARKING REOUEST_ Mr. John Sauer of 1021 East 7th Street, appeared before the board to request a residential parking permit. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the request pending Police approval, second by Councilperson Frantz, passing unanimously. RESIDENTIAL PARKING REOUEST_ Mr. Kenes Bowling, with Unique Management Services, appeared before the Board to request 2 residential parking permits for rental property at 217 E. Maple Street. There is parking in the rear of the building. There will be increased demand for parking in the area due to new businesses. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the request pending Police approval, second by Councilperson Frantz, passing unanimously. RE! ~EASE OF SEWER EASEMENT Mr. Brad Ludens, of Dunaway Engineering, appeared before the Board to request release of a sanitary sewer easement off of Jefferson Centre Way. Mr. Ludens presented and explained an exhibit. Engineer Miller said he has done dye tests and found the line is not in use. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the request under the condition the manhole is moved, and all proper permits and filings are completed, second by Councilperson Frantz, passing unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, the meeting was adjourned at 9:50 A.M.
