OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
AUGUST 18, 2003
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
Were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz.
Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Director Drm'y, Building Commissioner Gavin,
Personnel Director Ellis, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Planning and Zoning Director
Padgett, Street Commissioner Grant, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Parks Director
Elliott, Police Chief Pavey, Fire Chief Mike Smith, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 7-28-03, 8-4-03, and 8-11-03 as
presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and can'ied unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. Mayor Galligan asked if anyone is on the
payroll that shouldn't be.
EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK
Barbara Gallegos and Marsha Miller Smith appeared before the Board to present the
Personnel Policy handbooks. She said 400 copies will be printed and will cost $3.10 each
and will fit a 3-holed binder.
1710 WILLIAMSBURG STATION
Mabel Hostetler asked about the streets there and garbage collection. Mayor Galligan said
the streets weren't built to city's specifications, which are 9 in. rock, 2 in. binder, and 1 in.
surface. Mayor Gailigan said the City hasn't the capability to pick up dumpsters so they
would need totes. Ms. Hostetler asked about streetlights. Mayor Galligan said when
Williamsburg Station gets the streets to specifications then the City will do the lights.
Engineer Miller asked if they're willing to pay for someone to come out and do six corings
to get a certain standard. The Mayor will meet with them on this matter on Tuesday,
August 19, 2003 at 10:00 a.m.
1718 NATIONAL AVENUE
Wilbur Davey came before the Board to ask permission to have a party in his yard on
Saturday, August 22, 2003 from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. The Board said it would be ok but to try
and keep the bass down on the music or people would be calling to complain.
1010 HOWARD AVENUE-RESIDENT ONLY PARKING
Mayor Galligan asked Chief Pavey to check the residence of Trevor Lewis at 1010 Howard
Avenue for residential parking. Chief Pavey said he would check the residence and report
back to the Board.
