OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, ~IANA
JULY 28, 2003
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:40 a.m. and on call of the roll those members
present
Were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, Personnel Director Ellis, Police
Chief Pavey, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford,
Vehicle Maintenance Director Dmry, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Administrator
Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Planning and Zoning Director Padgett, Street
Commissioner Grant, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Conncilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. Mayor Galligan asked if anyone is on the
payroll that he doesn't know
RESIDENT ONLY PARKING
Brenda Small of 950 E. Court Avenue requested a resident only parking sign on Graham Street by her
garage. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the sign, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and
carried unanimously. There is a $100.00 yearly fee.
HANDICAPPED AND RESIDENT ONLY PARKING
Sherry Wheat of 320 E. Charlestown Avenue requested handicapped parking sign for her husband and a
resident only parking sign in front of her house. Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve
both signs pending Police Chief Pavey's approval, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously.
VARBLE AVENUE
Ken Nolan of 1503 Northaven Drive appeared before the Board in regard to flooding on Varble
Avenue. Mayor Galligan said this is being looked into.
NEIGHBORHOOD PROBLEMS
Frank Killebrew of 306 Mary Street said he is having problems with teens ruling the
neighborhood. Police Chief Pavey will go out and take care of the problem. Mr.
Killebrew also said animals are nmning around the neighborhood at night unleashed.
Animal Shelter Director Wilder said he would send someone over to investigate.
Engineer Miller told the Board that Hamburg Pike would be closed for 7 working days
beginning July 28, 2003 from New Albany-Charlestown Pike to Kingsfield Subdivision.
Engineer Miller told the Board that the 400 block of W. Market Street would be closed for
roadwork on July l0th and 1 lth, 2003.
Them being no further business to come before the Board the motion was made by
Engineer Miller to adjourn at 10:20 a.m. seconded by Councilperson Waiz and carried
unanimously.
