HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-07-2003MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONV1LLE, INDIANA JULY 7, 2003 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:40 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz. Also present were: Planning and Zoning Director Padgett, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Parks Director Rick Elliott, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Administrator Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Police Chief Pavey, Building Commissioner Gavin, Street Commissioner Grant, Youth Coordinator Knight, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 6-16-03 and 6-23-03 as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carded unanimously. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. Mayor Galligan asked if anyone is on the payroll that he nor Personnel Director Ellis knows about. PEDDLERPERMIT Loretta O'Dell had previously appeared before the 'Board in regard to a vendor permit. Planning and Zoning Director Padgett talked to her and explained what is permitted. She told him she was possibly interested in a peddler (door to door) permit. She was not in attendance of this meeting. ANTIQUE CAR TOUR Councilperson Frantz made the motion to approve parking under the bridge for an antique car tour on July 13, through July 18, 2003, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. PARADE Youth Coordinator Bev Knight requested that streets be closed for the LST Parade on July 26, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. (Schedule attached). A police escort will be needed at 9:00 a.m. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the street closures from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a police escort on July 26, 2003, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Councilperson Frantz to adjourn at 10~00 a.m., seconde_d b~/Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
