OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MARCH 10, 2003
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:45 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Councilperson Frantz and City Engineer Miller.
Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Redevelopment
Director Robinson, Administrator Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Police Chief Pavey, Animal Shelter
Director Wilder, Street Commissioner Grant, Planning and Zoning Director Padgett, Engineer Dixon,
Parks Director Elliott, Structural Inspector Wallace, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, and Deputy
Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carded unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 2-3-03, 2-18-03, 2-24-03, and 3-
3-03 as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
HIRE POLICE OFFICERS
Police ChiefPavey recommended hiring five new police officers. They are as follows:
Jason Gibson-To start 3-11-03
Darin Vaughn-To start 3-12-03
Josh Lynch-To start 3-13-03
Connie Woosley-To start 3-13-03
Gregory Seifried-To start 3-31-03 ~
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the hiring's, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried
unanimously.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
Planning and Zoning Director Padgett asked the Board to approve the Professional Services Agreement
with Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz on the 2003 Boundary and Annexation Survey as directed by the U.S.
Census Bureau. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the Professional Services Agreement with
Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz, not to exceed $1,000.00, seconded by Councilperson Frantz. and carried
unanimously.
Planning and Zoning Director Padgett asked the Board to approve the Professional Services Agreement
with Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz on the Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) support services.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the Professional Services Agreement with Jacobi, Toombs,
and Lanz not to exceed $6,000.00, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
ALLEYS
Structural Inspector Wallace asked if the Street Department could get some limbs and trash cleaned up
out of some of the alleys. After brief discussion, Mayor Galligan said that the Street Department will
pick up the limbs but that Inspector Wallace needs to recommend to people to buy the city trash cans to
clean up the trash.
CSX
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the Addendum to the Agreement between CSX
Transportation and the City of Jeffersonville, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried
unanimously.
CRUSADE FOR CHILDREN
Fire Chief Smith handed out information on the Crusade for Children Open House and Bean Supper to
be held on March 29, 2003 at 3:00 p.m.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Engineer Miller to
