HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-23-2003MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA JUNE 23, 2003 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Frantz and City Engineer Miller. Also present were: Planning and Zoning Director Padgett, Personnel Director Ellis, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Administrator Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Building Commissioner Gavin, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director Dmry, Parks Superintendent Etliott, and Deputy Clerk Lynne Mayfield, and Clerk Treasurer Wilder. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. Mayor Galligan asked if anyone is on the payroll that shouldn't be. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 6-9-03 as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. STREET LIGHTS Larry Knott of Cherry Hill neighborhood requested six additional street lights. Engineer Miller said he will go out and look at the area with his electric man. Engineer Miller made the motion to look at area, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. EXTENSION OF COMPUTER LEASE Clerk Treasurer Wilder spoke to the Board in regard to the computer lease that the city currently has. It will get the entire city on the Intemet. All resolutions and ordinances, building permits and so forth would be available to citizens. She would like Resolution 2003- R-15 passed to extend the Lease Agreement of 2001-R4. Bill Kimmel said server is in and being used but hasn't been paid for yet. He said the interface will be built for the GIS system. Databases are currently in the Clerk Treasurer's office, Sewer office, and City Court. There are three scanners, one in the Mayor's office, Planning and Zoning, and the Police Department. Engineer Miller made the motion approve the lease in the mount of $47,000.00, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. AUCTION Councilperson Frantz made the motion to contract with Crum Auction to sell all surplus City equipment, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously. Clerk Treasurer Wilder said she would need a list of equipment and auction items from all department heads. LORETTA MCKINLEY Lomtm McKinley said she would like to sell various items such as dolls, slippers, socks and etc. in various areas of the City. Mayor Galligan told her to get with Planning and Zoning Director Padgett for a recommendation. YARD SALE Fire Chief Smith said the people at 931 Fulton Street are having a continuous yard sale. He said the amount of things piled up creates a fire hazard to their property and the ones around them SPRUCE DRIVE Councilperson Frantz said Ron Long has a residence on Spruce Drive that needs to be cleaned up. Mayor Galligan said he would take care of this.
