Home My WebLink About05-12-2003MINUTES OF THE BOARD O1~ PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MAY 12, 2003 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:40 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present Were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Frantz. Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, Personnel Director Ellis, Engineering Coordinator Dixon, Police ChiefPavey, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Vehicle Maintenance Director Dru~, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Administrator Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Parks Director Elliott, Street Commissioner Grant, Planning and Zoning Director Padgett, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. Mayor Galligan asked if anyone is on the payroll that he doesn't know about. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 5-05-03 as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claims as presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. CITATION-2115 HAMBURG PIKE Planning and Zoning Director Padgett told the Board that the owner of the property at 2115 Hamburg Pike has been cited for leasing the property to a car dealer who is parking cars on gravel and for not getting a sign permit for the existing sign. He said Ophelia Montoya has been cooperative and is working on a redevelopment plan and wants to improve the property. Jeremy Hanes hasn't been as cooperative. After some discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion to give the owners five days to remove the sign with a $250.00 per day fine and $50.00 per car, per day to remove the cars, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board the motion was made by Engineer Miller to adjourn at 10:00 a.m. seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
