OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
FEBRUARY 10, 2003
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:47 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Councilperson Frantz and City Efigineer Miller.
Also present were: Safety Director Rodden, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford, Administrator
Rich Davis, Fire Chief Smith, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Street Commissioner Grant,
Planning and Zoning Director Padgett, Personnel Director Ellis, Sewer Office Manager Johnson, Animal
Shelter Director Wilder, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Parks Director Elliott, Engineering
Coordinator Dixon, and Deputy Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Mayor Galligan asked if there ,was anyone on the payroll that he or Personnel Director Ellis
are not aware o£ None being, Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as
presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
INSURANCE
Diane Swank of the Culpepper Group appeared before the Board to present the revised proposal for the
City of Jeffersonville insurance from Humana, Inc. With this proposal, the Humana insurance would
take effect April 1, 2003. The benefits will remain the same as they are now. Engineer Miller made the
motion to approve the Humana proposal effeqtive April 1, 2003, seconded by Councilperson Walz and
carried unanimously.
QUADRANGLE
R6deveiopment Director Robinson told the Board there are two properties that have been
designated to be fire hazards. They are located at 1025 Mechanic Street and 1055 Watt
Street. Steps will be taken to secure the buildings. Mayor Galligan said there is also a body
shop that needs to be shut down as they are not paying the rent. Mayor Galligan told Safety
Director Rodden that the police need to be pat~0lling the Quadrangle in case of fires being
set.
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING DAMAGES #5,#6,AND #7
City Attorv~y Galligaga asked the Board to appr°~e'the initial resolutions for damages on the
Chapman, Hollis, and Ward tracts. T,he amount of damages are as follows: Chapman-
$373.00, Hollis-$748.50, and Ward-S5,836.00. She said a remonstrance hearing is set for
February 24, 2003 at the Board of Public Works meeting. Engineer Miller made the motion
to approve the resolutions establishing damages, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and
carried unanimously.
There being no further discuss!on to come before the Board the motion was made by Engineer Miller to
adjourn at 10:20 a.m., seconded by Councilpers. on Frantz and carded unanimously.
