CROSSWALK AT SPRING HILL SCHOOL
Police Chief Rick Elliott wants to table this until the next meeting
so that Dave Pullian from the School System can get the number of
Children that will use the crosswalk.
FIRE PLUG
Assistant Fire Chief Clifton James Jr. went to Fairview Avenue and
took measurements to the nearest fire plug. He reported that we are~
within the Ordinance. Mayor Parker said that at this time we don~t
feel that it is necessary to put one in.
TELEPHONE SOLICITING
Dona Williams a representative of Ohio Valley Blind Association would
like permission to solicit over the phone to sell tickets for a mini
circus. The money is used to help buy items for the blind. Director
Lakeman made the motion to give permission to the Ohio Valley Blind
Association to solicit over the phone2 seconded by Director Matra2 and
carried unanimously.
SEWER EXPANSION
Assistant Superintendent Larry James reported that Mr. McCulloch a
resident of New Albany Charlestown Pike, is being sued by the Health
Department for not being on sewers. He would like for the sewers to
be extended to his residence. Mr. Lanz did a survey on the area. The
total cost estimate of the project could cost around a total of
$51,000 to $52,000. Mayor Parker suggested to Mr. James to forward
this information to Steve Tolliver when he gets back, then we can meet
with Mr. Lanz and Mike Gillenwater to make a decision.

ROADBLOCK-SHOP WITH A COP
Police Chief Elliott wants to request a roadblock for the K of C and
Police Department on Friday October 16, 1992 from 3:00-5:30 P.M. and
Saturday October 17~ 1992 from 9;00-5;00 P.M. at the corners of
Hamburg Pike and Dutch Lane, also Market and Walnut Streets to collect
for Shop With A Cop. Director Lakeman made the motion to accept Chief
Elliotts recommendation for the roadblock, seconded by Director Matra,
and carried unanimously.
TRENCH WELL JACKS
Bob Miller suggested that we purchase ? Trench Well Jacks with a pump.
The price is $2?5 ea. and $250 for the pump with a total of $B175.00.
Steve wants an approval from the Board. Director Lakeman made the
motion to purchase the jacks for the Wastewater Treatment Plant~
seconded by Director Marra~ and carried unanimously.
DRAINAGE
Street Commissioner George Trembly took Bob Miller out to the drainage
problem at Hamburg Pike, where the pond is backed up. We feel that
the only way to releave the backup is to cut the build-up loose, it
will flow back and empty out to Magnolia to the main ditch. We will
have to contact the neighbors to let ~them know when it will be done.
Also Fairview and Magnolia where Mrs. Knowland had complaints about we
have been doing quite a bit of work.
STORM DAMAGE
Mike Wathen reported that City Attorney Mike Gillenwater talked with
the Insurance Company and they have decided to pay the $1995.00 for
the roof at the garage.
HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE
Animal Shelter Director Jan Wheatley reported that Mr.& Mrs. Goody
came to the Animal Shelter at my request and walked through with us
and showed us the things that we would have to do to make us
handicapped accessible. There were very few things that has to be
done.

FUNDS RETURNED
Donna Metzger reported that she has only heard from 2 people on the
funds returned. You must report to her even if there is no funds to
be turned in, She needs to have them by 4:00 P.M. today.
QUOTES AND MEMO
Clerk and Treasurer C. Richard Spencer Jr. reported that he requested
quotes on the emergency bid at the Wastewater Treatment Plant he has
not received them as of today, also City Attorney Mike Gillenwater has
not given him the memo that was requested at the last meeting.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public
Works, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at 10:00
seconded by Director Marra~ and carried unanimously.
