OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA
MONDAY JUNE 8, 1992
Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.~
and on call of the roll those members present were Mayor Parker,
Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman, and Sewage Collection
Office Director Jim Matra.
Also present were: Street Commissioner Lee ~emingway, Building
Commissioner William Gavin, Utilities Director Steve Tolliver~
Assistant Police Chief Charles Elder~ Motor Vehicle SuperVisor Bob
Miller, Fire Chief Jerry Dooley~ Assistant Fire Chief Clifton James
Jr. Animal Shelter Manager Jan Wheatley, Vehicle Maintenance Director
Mike Wathen, City Services Coordinator George Trembly, Park Secretary
Linda Eddings, Sewer Office Manager Bob Goldman~ Administrative
Assistant Donna Metzger~ Councilperson Bill Wolpert, and Clerk Alice
Davis.
Director Lakeman made the motion

CIVIL AIR PATROL SIGN
Police Chief Elliott sent Lt. Schmidt to the sign location and denied
it because of being a traffic hazard, tt was put up at the North side
of the street~ and East of the entrance, West of the railroad. Ma~or
Humbert is satisfied with it.
MILL CREEK PUMP STATION
Steve To!liver reported the price of the fencing for the Mill Creek
Pump Station · Secure Fence Co. was the low bidder.(See attached
copies for other bids.) Director Lakeman made the motion to accept the
lowest bid of $1~190.00, seconded by Director Matra, and carried
unanimously.
RESIDENT PARKING
Police Chief Elliott sent Lt. Schmidt to 10~1 E. Court Ave. to check
on the parking situation- The parking cannot be molved~ the lots are
only 35' wide with no room for resident parking signs~ Also one way
street would not help.

Junior Harvey called Director Lakeman and wants the weekends of June
26th and June B?th. and also July 3, ~ 5~ !992 at these locations
Market and Main Streets and Hamburg Pike and Dutch Lane to collect for
AAU Basketball. Director L@keman made the motion to accept for the
dates July 37 4~ 5~ 1992~ seconded by Director Marra~ and carried
unanimously.
O__HIO RI_ VER SWEEP PROGRAM
Mike Meyer of the Clark County Health Departmen't is trying to
coordinate with Troy McCormick of the Falls of the Ohio in CIarksville
for the Ohio River Sweep Program which will be June 20, i992 from
8:00AM until noon starting at the Overlook. Director Lakeman will
call Rumpke to get dumpsters put in different areas. Director Lakeman
made the motion to accept this~ seconded by Director Matra, and
carried unanimously.
NO PARKING SIGNS
Building Commissioner Bill Gavin was asked to request no parking on
the West side of Duffys Landing. Mayor Parker said to make that
request to Rodger Caldwell and let him come back with a recommendation
as to where and how it is to be done.
SPECIAL LIGHTING
Building Commissioner Bill Gavin reported on the fancy lights for the
DeMars Hake Pro~ect. We received a figure from PSI which is
S13,AO0.O0 and would have to be paid for in advance of construction.
In subdivisions that have fancy street lights the Builders paid for
the lights~ all we did was pay the monthly bill on the electrictiy.
Mayor Parker said that he thinks that this is the way it should be.
Lakeman made the motion that the price of these fancy lights will be
the responsibility of the Buitder~ seconded by Director ~arra~ and
carried unanimously.
SUBURBAN ACRES SUBDIVISION
Connie Throckmorton of Suburban Acres wants street !ights, and
RainfieId Ct. patched. Director Lakeman talked to Bill Gavin and the
this part has not been dedicated. Director Lakeman will call her back
on this matter.
SEWER LINE EXTENSION
The sewer line extension at 1301 Jeff.-Charlestown Rd. is etarting to
sink. Steve Tolliver will take care of this.
BUDGETS
Mayor Parker reminded the Department Heads about turning in their
Budgets

BOND ISSUE
Building Commissioner is concerned on how we stand with the Kemper
Construction Company on the Bond issue. Steve Toiliver reported that
there is to be a meeting on this on June 11~ 1998 at iO:OOAM at
Jacobi~ Toombs and Lanz.
CPR CERTIFICATION COURSE
Mike Wathen with the help of Clifton James Jr. made arrangement with
the ambulance service to give his whole department instructions on
CPR, on Saturday July 11~199B from 8:00AM to A3OPM~it is mandatory for
ail of his Department to attend to be certified or recertified~ if
anyone in other Departments wants to attend they are welcome.
WHITE GOODS
George Trembly reported that he will have it worked out with Rumpke on
the white goods pickup.
ANIMAL SHELTER
The road and the parking lot at the Animal Shelter needs repaved~ the
estimate is $3080.00. Lee Hemingway needs to get the list of roads so
he can get in touch with the asphalt company.

~HYSICALS
Fire Chief Jerry Dooley reported that he heard from OSHA
representative on the physicals stating that it is mandatory to tell
his people about the physicals~ but the physicals are not mandatory.
The shots have to offered to them and there is a waver that the
employee ham to sign and it ie mandatory that you offer to give the
shot.

seller to be a true and correct survey of the owner's property. Any underlying obstructions necessitating drilling will be charged for additional labor involved.
Owner or Buyer assumes full responsibility for underground utilities with any and all restrictions whether by deed or otherwise.

Using 2½" SS20 Corner Posts, 3" SS20 Gate Posts and 2" SS20 Line posts.
Also 1 5/8" SS20 Top and Brace Rails. Install a 16' DD Gate also with
9ga. wire and SS20 Framework. All Posts set in Concrete. Ail corners
will be braced.
