Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30 and on call of the roll those members present were Mayor Parker, Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman~ and Sewage Collection Office Director Jim Matra. Also present were: Building Commissioner William Gavin~ Street Commissioner Lee Hemingway, City Attorney Mike Gillenwater, Utility Director Steve Tolliver, Police Chief Rick Elliott, Assistant Police Chief Charles Elder, Fire Chief Jerry Dooley, Assistant Fire Chief Clifton James Jr., Animal Shelter Manager Jan Wheatley, Vehicle Maintenance Director Mike Wathen, City Services Coordinator George Trembly~ Park Sdperintendent Rodger Caldwell, Sewer Office Manager Bob Goldman Councilperson Wm. Wolpert, Clerk and Treasurer C. Richard Spencer Jr.~ and Clerk Lynne Kempf~ and Clerk Alice Davis. A correction on the Minutes of March 23, 1992~ stated that John Duerr the resident at 625 E. 9th Street had painted 2?'of curb in front of his residence without permission from the City. Instead the person responsible for painting the curb was Mrs. Dyson his neighbor. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes as corrected. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented, seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously. JOHN DUERR UPDATE Lee Hemingway is taking care of the paint being removed from the curb. MR. KAUFMAN UPDATE Lee Hemingway reported that they are putting poles on each side of the side walk~ they are being installed today March 30, 1992. STREET LIGHT Mr. Coltin Schwoyer resident of turned off for one night during suggested he approach PSI. Francis Ct. requested the street light Thunder Over Louisville. Mayor Parker VENDORS PERMIT Fred Sanders requesting permission to sell balloons at Thunder Over Louisville, there will be a $95.00 permit fee charged for the event, also a new Ordinance for liability insurance of $500,000 and proof certificate is required. Director Matra made a motion to accept, Director Lakeman seconded, carried unanimously. VENDORS PERMIT Shirley Palazzo requested a food permit, Director Lakeman took her name and phone number for location map to get her space. Director Lakeman will call her today to let her know the space location. PAGE 2 MARCH 30, 1992 VENDORS FEE A $?5.©0 fee will be charged for a Vendors Permit each location. Director Lakeman made a motion to Directior Marra~ carried unanimously. for each event and accept, seconded by SIGN REQUES~ Nancy Cline resident at 483 E ?th Street requests a Resident Only Parking sign Director Lakeman made the motion to accept~ seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously. SIGN REQUES~ Tyrone Wilson a resident at 810 Fulton Steet requested a Resident Only Parking sign. Mayor Parker requested Police Chief Elliott to check this problem out and report back to the board at the next meeting. MARKET STREET UPDATE Director Lakeman talked to the foreman on the job. the work. Mayor Parker asked Director Lakeman contractors or write them a letter. They sub contract to call the sub EYE LEVEL UPDATE Mike Gillenwater reported that he ' talked to Mr. Neumeister from Eye Level Advertising~ and sent him the new contract with some changes requiring him to provide proof of some of the things he was suppose to have. Attorney Gillenwater also recommended a 5 year contract signed. PROCTOR-DAVIS Jim Matra read a letter from Proctor-Davis on the rebuilding of Riddle Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. STREET SURVEY Lee Hemingway has the survey on the streets to be blacktopped~ summitted by various Councilpersons. HANDICAPPED PARKING Councilperson Wm. Wolpert received a letter Saturday March ~8~ 1998 from Tom Steinberg of 419 Walnut Street requesting the need for more handicapped parking during special events in downtown Jeffersonville. Police Chief Elliott reported there will be special parking for the handicapped~ but they must be in a handicapped vehicle. DALE YOUST-GOLFVIEW UPDATE Steve Tolliver ~eported the back up of raw sewage in the home of Da~e Youst on Augusta Drive was of no negligence of the Sewage Department. Several problems have been rectified~ as a result they lost approximately $494.99 in valuables. They agreed to let the city take care of the claim. Director Lakeman made a motion to accept, seconded by Director Marra~ and carried unanimously. PAGE B MARCH 30~ 1992 ART MEYER UPDATE Steve Tolliver reported that he went to the property on Hopkins Lane to clean out the catch basin on Friday~ while there he saw several ~ther minor problems~ he got Mrs. Bliss: permission to clean out the bitch in front of her house. She requested a meeting set up with ~Jorge Lanz and Mike Oillenwater to set up a meeting with her Attorney ~and discuss when, where and how they are going to do the improvements on her property. They would like to do this~ this weekend at the Attorneys Office. Mayor Parker introduced his new Secretary Hona McBride. Donna Metzger will be Administrative Assistant. being no further business to come before the Board~ Mayor Parker made the motion to adjourn at i0:05 A.M. seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously.
