OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA
MONDAY MARCH 83~199B
Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.,
and on call of the roll those members present were Mayor Parkers
Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman, and Sewage Collection
Office Director Jim Matra.
A~lso present were: Building Commiesioner William Gavin, Street
Commissioner Lee Hemingway, City Attorney Mike Gillenwater, Utility
Director Steve Tolliver~ Police Chief Rick Elliott, Assistant Chief of
Police Charles Eider, Fire Chief Jerry Dooley, Animal Shelter Manager
Jan Wheatley, Vehicle Maintenance Director Mike Wathen, City Services
Coordinator George Trembly, Park Secretary Linda Eddings~ Sewer Office
Manager Bob Goldman, Clerk and Treasurer C. Richard Spencer Jr., and
Clerks Lynne Kempf and Alice Davis.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting
of March 16', 1998, as presented~ seconded by Director Matra and
carried unanimously.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented~
seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously.
EYE LEVEL ADVERTISING UPDATE
Attorney Gillenwater has had no response from Eye Level.
CURB PAINTING
John Duerr resident at 685 E. 9th Street painted Bg' more of curb
white in front of his residence without permission from the City.
Mayor Parker asked Lee Hemingway to take care of this matter.
MUTUAL AID CONTRACT
Chuck Stanckiewitz~ Safety and Occupational Health Manager of ICI
presented a contract on Mutual Fire Aid. Additional copies will be
sent. Director Lakeman made a motion to accept, seconded by Director
Matra, and carried unanimously.

DUMPING TIRES
F&T Tire Service is having tires dumped behind his business on Spring
Street. Mayor~'Parker asked Lee Hemingway to take care of this matter.
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Director Lakeman reported that the City of Bedford is sponsoring a
City Basketball Tournament on Saturday May 2nd. and Sunday May 3rd.
for any FOP or Firemans Team. Members must be a full time City
Employee.
PARKING PROBLEM
Assistant Chief of Police Charles Elder reported on Mr.
parking problem at 317 Graham Street by Champs Bar. Elder
putting 2 poles on either side of sidewalk. Mayor Parker
Hemingway to take care of this matter.
STREET CLOSING

Streets for Thunder Over The Ohio. See attached copy. Director
Lakeman made the motion to accept this, seconded by Director Matra and
carried unanimously.
THANK YOU
Steve Tolliver thanked Mike Wathen for fixing the flashing arrow that
was damaged during the Quadrangle fire.
CROWD CONTROL IN BARS
Commissioner Gavin brought up crowd control in bars

talked to the Water Company about cleaning up Market Street They said
they would make an effort to start cleaning it up this week.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mayor Parker
made the motion to adjourn at 10:15 A.M.~ seconded by Director Lakeman
and carried unanimously.

Mayor Parker,
In coordination with the Kentucky Derby Festival on the llth day of
April, 1992, for the Thunder Over Louisville, the following streets
are requested closed.
~1) The Clark Bridge (2nd Street) closed from the
split at US62 & US31 to the Ohio River.
~2) The Market Street exit ramp from 1-65 South.
#3) West Riverside Drive from Pearl Street West to
the City limits.
#4) West Market Street from Mulberry Street West to
the City limits.
~5) West Court Avenue from the 1-65 overpass West to
Illinois Avenue.
#6) Illinois Avenue from Court Avenue south to Riverside
Drive.
#7) Missouri Avenue from VFW Blvd south to Market Street.
#8) The alleys on the north and south sides of the
floodwall from Pearl Street west to the City limits.
Ail of the ~bove mentioned street are being requested to be closed
at 9am. Th~ streets will be opened at the discretion of the Chief
of Police~ depending upon traffic congestion in the area. All
streets will be opened by 12:00 midnight.
The following streets are requested to be considered "No
Zones".
#1) Riverside Drive west of Pearl Street, to ~he
city limits.
~2) Market Street west ~f Mulberry Street, to the
Parking
City limits.
#3) Illinois Avenue from Riverside~Drive to Court Avenue.
#4) Missouri Avenue from Market Street to VFw Blvd.
