THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY AND
SEWER UTILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 30~ 1993
Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 5:00 P.M.~
and on call of the roll those Board members present were Mayor Packer~
Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman, and Sewage Collection
Office Director Jim Marra~ Sewer Utility Advisory Committee members
present were Jorge Lanz, Steve Stemler, Dale Yost~ Wayne Estopinal~
Mike Gillenwater and Clerk Alice Davis.
AGENDA PRESENTATION
Jorge Lanz made a presentation and discussed the timetable for the
Statement of Qualifications to be issued and received~ Also the
Request for and the Receiving of the Proposals. Mr. Lanz also
discussed the Sewer Utility Advisory Committee duties.( see copy)
OPTIONS DISCUSSED
The Sewer Utility Advisory Committee discussed different options and
how long to make the contract~ also discussed the Salary Ordinance.
OPEN DOOR LAW
City Attorney Mike Gillenwater said that he would like to explain to
everyone that being on a Public Board we are subject to the Open Door
La~ that means that there are four on the committee and no more than
three can get together et anytime without having an official meeting.
You can get together socially, go to different education purposes~ if
you get together to discuss SUAC that is breaking the law or violating
the Open Door Law. Mike said that everytime SUAC meets we will have
to advertise 8 days ahead, ~8 hours excluding Holidays end weekends in
order to call a meeting. Jorge Lanz said that he would advertise the
meetings. Mike said that all advertising has to be done through Dick
Spencer's Office.
SUAC MEETING
Jorge Lanz discussed with SUAC the date for the next meeting. It
discussed and decided to be on Monday December 80~ 1993 at 5:15pm.
There being no 'further businees to come before the Board of Public
Works and Safety~ Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at
6:lOp.m., seconded by Director Marne, and carried unanimously.
