OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MONDAY FEBRUARY 14, 1994
Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.,
and on call of the roll those members present were Mayor Parker,
Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman, and Sewage Collection
Office Director Jim Matra.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin~ Street
Commissioner George Trembly, Police Chief Rick Elliott, Fire Chief
Jerry Dooley, City Engineer Robert Miller, Animal Shelter Manager Jan
Wheatley, Vehicle Maintenance Director Michael Ewton, Sewer Office
Manager Bob Goldman, Administrative Assistant Donna Baird, Wastewater
Treatment Plant Supt. Larry James, Parks Dept Representative Eric
Hedrick, and Clerk Suzy Nevitt.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting
of February ?, 1994~ as presented, seconded by Director Matra and
carried unanimously.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented,
seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously.
SEWER BACKUP
Supt. James presented the Board with pictures of the Sewe~ line on
Western Ave. There is grease built up in the sewer lines. He
believes this is coming from the House of China. The Board will
forward the pictures on to the City Attorney for his advise on who
will be responsible for paying to have these lines clean. Supt.
James said that he is not sure how long the grease has been building
up in the lines.
COMPLAINT REGARDING DRIVEWAY
City Engineer Miller told the Board that he has taken care of a
complaint from Norma Leppert concerning her driveway entrance on
Market St.
COMPLAINT ON 9TH ST
Building Commissioner Gavin informed the Board of a complaint on Paul
Beeler~s residence at 11OO E 9th St. Commissioner Gavin has tagged the
inoperable cars but he will have to check the ordinance to see if
anything can be done about the firewood.
COPY OF MAPS
Mayor Parker informed the Board that Assistant Baird has copies of
detour maps and parking arrangements on the Market St project.
DELINQUENT SEWER BILLS
The motion was made by Director Lakeman to allow City Attorney
Gillenwater to pursue the delinquent sewer bills of William Alien
Wright seconded by Director Matra and unanimously passed.
Assistant Baird reminded the Department Heads of the Greenway Meeting
on Feb 17, 1994 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor's Conference Room. There is a
public meeting at the Ken Ellis Bldg at 7:00 PM March 1, 1994.
BIDS ON RAMPS
Engineer Miller informed the Board that he contacted seven contractors
on a price for wheelchair ramps for the City. He received three
quotes ranging from $838.00 - $1500 per ramp.
REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTS
Engineer Miller suggested three street lights for James Estate. The
motion was by Director Miller to approve the request for three lights
seconded by Director Lakeman and approved unanimously.
Assistant Baird passed out policies on quarterly transfers from
Council President Steve Stemler.
There being no further business to come before the Board the motion
was made by Director Lakeman to adjourn at 9:50 AM seconded by
Director Matra and approved unanimously.
