MONDAY DECEMBER ~1~' ~995
~jAdministrative Assistant Donna Baird filled
parker Jr. in his absence, called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.,
and on call of the roll those members present were Personnel and
Safety Director Harold Lakeman, and Sewage Collection Office Director
Jim Matra.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, City Engineer Bob
Miller, Street Commissioner George Trembly, City Attorney Mike
Glllenwater, Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman,. Assistant Police Chief
Charles Thompson, Assistant Fire Chief Clifton James, Jr., Maintenance
Manager Mike Ewton, Animal Shelter Director Ed Voyles, City Services
Coordinator Leslie Kavanaugh, Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott,
Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Kendall Coleman, and Clerk Alice
Davis.
.Director Lakeman made the motion to approve~the minUtes of the meeting
of December 4, 1995 as presented, seconded by Director Matra and
carried unanimously. .
Director Lakeman made the motion'to approve the claims as presented~
seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented,
seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously~
TABLED REQUEST FOR GREATER CLARK SCHOOLS
Sandy Lewis, representing Greater Clark Schools is appearing before
the Board for their recommendation on accepting Oakridge Drive into
the City. Ms. Lewis said she has not heard from JOrge Lanz. Building
Commissioner Bill Gavin said that there is another option that is
being considerd, and would like to have this tabled until next week.
HANDICAP PARKING AT 408 MARKET STREET
Assistant Police Chief Charles Thompson reported on the handicap
parking at 408 Market Street, he said traffic officer Schmidt talked
with the next door neighbors and they agreed to park one of their 3
vehicles around the side so the lady at 408 can have the parking space
and if this does not work then a handicap parking will be installed.
Assist Chief Thompson said he was going to deny this request but
received a call this morning from the property manager and she is
concerned about the lady not getting the sign because she has epilepsy
seizures and thinks she needs one. Director Lakeman asked Chief
Thompson if this would affect Angela Williams from getting a handicap
parklng sign at 412 W. Market Street. Assr Chief Thompson told the
property manager that they will check back in 30 days and if it is not
~working a sign can be installed. Director Lakeman said to bring this
back.

COMPLAINT AT 3133 EASTBROOK BLVD.
Assistant Police Chief Charles Thompson reported on the complaint at
3133 Eastbrook Blvd.~ he said that the Traffic Officer Schmldt could
not make a personal contact with the resident, so he put a typed
letter in the mall box; and they are suppose to make contact with
Officer Schmidt regarding the situation.
CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION
City Services Coordinator Les Kavanaugh reported on the Christmas Tree
Collection and he said he wants some kind of direction on what to do
with the recycling of the Christmas trees~ City Attorney Glllenwater
said he would talk with Mr, Kavanaugh after the meeting.
HANDICAP PARKING 412 W. MARKET STREET
Angela Willlams~ 412 W. Market Street is requesting handicap parking
at her residence. Ms. Williams explained about her handicap and the
reasons she needs the sign, she is getting papers from her Doctor to
get handicap licence plates this week. Director Lakeman and Assistant
Police Chief Thompson agreed to table this until next week.
RESIDENTIAL PARKING AT 236 GRAHAM STREET
Sharon Swinney~ 236 Graham Street is requesting a residential parking
because the Jeff Boat employees park in front of her housel and she
does not have off street parking. Building Commissioner Gavin said
the whole block should be resident parking only. City Engineer Bob
Miller received 2 calls from residents on Market Street complaining
about the employees parking in front of their residences, he talked
with Jeff Boat and they can do nothing about this. Administrative
Assistant Baird suggested to have the Police do an lnvestgation on
this and bring the recommendation back to the Board next week~
RESIDENTIAL PARKING 227 WALNUT STREET
Director Takeman brought to the Board a request from Donna Shelton,
227 Walnut Street for a residential parking. Administrative Assistant
Baird said there will be an investigation by the Police Department and
the recommendation will be brought back to the Board next week,

Administrative Assistant Donna Baird wanted to take this opportunity
to thank all the Department Heads for their wonderful cooperation they
have given her. Donna said she was told last week she would not be
retained and wanted to share with everyone that it was a pleasure to
work with you. You've not only be good to work with but you've also
been a friend and that has meant a lot to Donna. Donna thanked
everyone from the botton of her heart.

STREET DEDICATION
City Engineer Bob Miller reported that he has 2 streets that he wants
to dedicate into the Cltyl they are Brim and Johnny Drives. The
builder is John Zurschmiede. Director Matra made the motion to
approve the 2 street dedicated into the City, seconded by Director
Lakeman and carried unanimously.
Street Commissioner George Trembly asked Administrative Assistant
Donna Baird to put a notice in the paper that there will be no garbage
pickup for Christmas and New Years Day only.

There being no further business to come before the Board of Public
Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at
09:55a.m., seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously~
