A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Sewage
Collection Office Director Jim Matra, and Street Commissioner George
Trembly filled ~n for Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman in
his absence due to illness.
Also present were: Building ~ommlssloner Bill Gavin, City Engineer Bob
Miller, City Attorney Mike Glllenwater, Sewage Office Manager Bob
Goldman, Police Capt. Danny Rodden, Arson Inspector Randy Leverett,
Maintenance Manager Mike Ewton, Animal Shelter Director Ed Voyles,
City Services Coordinator-Leslie Kavanaugh, Parks Superintendent Rick
Elliott, Wastewater Treatment Pl~n~ 'birector Kehdall col~m~h', and
Clerk Alice Davis.
Director Matra made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting
of September 25, 1995 as presented, seconded by Member Trembly and
carried unanimously.
Director Matra made the motion to approve the payrolls as~p~esented,
seconded by Member Trembiy ahd~carried unanim6~sly.
TANDEM DUMP TRUCK BID AWARDING
Maintenance Mana~' Mike Ewton [~comme~ed that the'"T~hd=em~Tr~ck Bid
be awarded to Great American Peterbilt at a cost, of $~9,455.00.

CONTRACT WITH JOHN KENYON EYE CLINIC ....
Diane Swank, representing The Culpepper Group,~was not present
Board Meeting to have the contra¢~ with John Kenyon Eye Clinic signed,
this was tabled.
SEWER TAP IN 5709 ~AMBURG PIKE,.
Terry ~ammond, 5709 Hamburg pi~e is requesting to tap ihtO the'C~ty
sewer system. Ms. Hammond talked with Jim Matra and he suggested that
she talked to Director Coleman about the tap in. Attorney Gillenwater
explained to Ms. Hammond that she would be paying a higher sewer rate
than the people who live in the City and also she. has to sign a wavier
of your right to remonstrat against any annexation in your area.
Director Matra made the motion to approve the sewer tap in at 5709
Hamburg Pike. seconded by Member Trembly, and carried unanimously.
CAUTION LIGHT AT JEFF BOAT
Ma'r~in ~t re~resehtihg Jeff Boa .is re~uestin~ Caution lights at
gates 5, 8, and 2, because of several Wmploye~s hit by vehicles and
would like for the City to pay half of the cost. Mrs. Baird explained
that Police Chief Elder and Mr. Miller will take a look at this and
see what it would entail and get a cost on this and do an
investigation.

NOTICE OF VIOLATION--VOSS CLARK INDUSTRIES
Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Kendall Coleman reported that back
on March 16, 1995 Voss Clark was issued an Administrative Show Cause
Order for chronic violation of arsnic concentration from July 1, 1994
to February 28, 1995. Part of the administrative order was a fine
issued for S11,000.00, proceeding the order the Board went into an
agreement with Voss Clark on May 15, 1995 requiring them to pay 50% of
the fine which was $5,500 and the remaining part of the fine will be
held for 6 months, ~if another violation occurs they would be
responsible for paying the remainder of the fine. Voss Clark was
issued a notice of violation for arsnic violation which occured on
September 21, 1995. Director Coleman recommends that the Board issues
the remainder of the fine of $5,500. Director Matra made the motion
to impose the remainder of the fine to Voss Clark for $5,500, seconded
by Member Trembly, and carried unanimously.
APPROVAL FOR REPAIRS AT CAMP POWERS LIFT STATION
Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Kendall Coleman is requesting to
have repairs done at Camp Powers Lift Station for $3,867.14. Member
Trembly made the motion to approve the repairs for Camp Powers Lift
Station at a cost of $3,867.14, seconded by Director Matra, and
carried unanimously.
REPAIRS OF 8TH AND MEIGS AVENUE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Kendall Coleman said t'hat unde~
this years Capital Improvements Program we submitted a pro3ect at 8th
and Melgs Avenue to do some repair of the intersection. There were 2
quotes from: Irish Park, Inc. and Reynolds Inc. and Director Coleman
recommends Irish Park, Inc. at a cost of $15,092.00 for 2 catch
basins, and repaying the intersection. Director Matra made the motion
to approve the repairs at the lnter~ectlon of' 8th and Melgs Avenue,
seconded by Member Trembly, and carried unanimously.

CDL LICENSE SCHOOL
Street Department Director Trembly'reported that

STREET LIGHTS '
Mayor Parker wants to extend

the Sunshine Band Concert for all of
the CDL school has
City Engineer Bob Miller has a request for street lights on Perimiter
Drive and Aldridge. Member Trembly made the motion to approve the
street lights, seconded by DlrectorlMarra, and carried unanimously.

CITY AUCTION
Maintenance Manager Ewton reported on the City auction that was held
last Saturday, they made $21,60~.00.
STREET CLOSING
Park Superintendent Rick Elliott is requesting that both sides of
Court Avenue between Spring and Wall Streets be closed on October 27,
1995 from 4:00pm-ll:00pm for Halloween in the Park. Director Matra
made the motion to close both sides of Court Avenue, between Spring
and Wall Streets on October 27, 1995, seconded by Member Trembly, and
carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public
Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at
09:45a.m., seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously.
