Danny Rodden, Fire Chief Jerry Doolely, Animal Shelter DireCtor Ed Voyles, Parks Superintendent Rick Etliott, Administrative Assistant Donna Baird, Wastewater Treatmen~ Plant Ma~aget~ K~ndall Coleman, and Clerk Alice Davis. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting of August 21, 1995 as presented, seconded bY Director Matra and carried unanimously. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented, seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously. STOP SIGN AT PARK PLACE AND CRESTVIEW Police Capt. Danny Rodden reported the Police Department is still working on the stop sign at Park Place and Crestview and will bring the recommendations to the Board next week. This was tabled. CLOSING THE 1800 BLOCK OF SPRING STREET FOR DEAD TREES Street Commissioner George Trembly and PSI were already scheduled for could be cut down. CHERRY CREEK LIFT STATION reported that the Phone company, the next m~rning S0 bOth t~rees Wastewater Treatment Plant' Manager Kendall' Coleman reported on the Cherry Creek Lift Station. Manager Coleman said The Cherry Creek Condo Association requested that the City take over the maintenance of their lift station. The CitY asked them to do some upgrades to the lift station before we could take it over. The modification have been made and Kendall recommends to grant that approval There is an agreement drafted and would like for Mr. Igert to look them over and sign them and bring them back tb Kendall. This will be effective September 1, 1995 and we will be responsible for p~eventative maintenance and minor repairs to the lift station for the first year, Cherry Creek' will still be responsible for all utilities costs and all major repairs over $50.00 for the first year. As of September 1, 1996 the City will take full responsibility of the lift station, but not the collection system or the force main~ Director Lakeman made the motion at the recommendation of Kendall Coleman to take over the Cherry Creek Lift Station agreeable with the contract Submitted thi~ morning to be signed by both parties, seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimOusly. PAGE 2 ~UGUST 28, 1995 PARKING PROBLEM AT 717 E. MARKET STREET Norman Cottard~ 717 E. Market Street has a parking problem at his residence. Mr. Collard explained that he lives by Jeff Boat and the workers park in front of his residence and he can hardly get in and out of his driveway because they park right up to the edge. Mr. Collard is requesting some kind of help to prevent the cars from parking so close to his driveway. Mayor Parker explained the Police Department will have to investigate this and will bring the recommendations back to the Board next week. 3-WAY STOP AT SPORTSMAN DRIVE AND RIDGEWAY DRIV~ Police Capt. Danny Rodden said there is a request from a resident of Northaven Subdivision for a 3-way stop ~sign at the corner of Ridgeway and Sportsman Drives. Lt. Rodden said there lsa Police Officer that lives close to that area and he advises that it is needed. Mayor Parker asked Capt. Rodden to bring the recommendation to the next Board meeting~ CONVEYANCE OF TWO ALLEYS Bobby Mauk is appearing before the Board requesting for the Deeds to the alleys that were vacated next to his property. Attorney Glllenwater said Mr. Mauk does not need a deed for the vacation of the alleys whomever owns the property on each side gets half of the alley and since he owns both pieces he will get all of the alleys. AIR QUALITY REPORT City Attorney Mike Gillenwater said he has written up a air quality report form to be given to people who complain about odors. This form can be sent to them so they can fill it out and sign and send it to the Sewage Office so we can document the complaints. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the adoption of the Air Quality Report form recommended by Attorney Gillenwater, seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously. 8 STREET LIGHT REQUEST FOR MALLARD RUN SUBDIVISION City Engineer Bob Miller has a request for 8 street lights for the first addition of Mallard Run Subdivision recommended by PSI. There was discussion on who should put the lights in the developer or the City° Commissioner Gavin said once they are dedicated finished they come in and tear up the yards and this would be ellminateed. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the 8 street in Mallard Run Subdivision, seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously. CHERRY CREEK GARBAGE PICKUP UPDAT~ Street Commissioner Trembly gave an update on the garbage pickup for Cherry Creek Condos. Commissioner Trembly said they are going to keep the 2yd. dumpsters once a week pickup. Starting September 7, 1995 there will be started a recycling program to cut down on the amount of trash going into the dumpsters. The City has provided 2 recycliDg bins for every resident there, and we will get the BFI recyling truck to start picnlng up the recyclab].e items. PAGE 3 AUGUST 28, 1995 ~DISABLED CARS IN THE 700 BLOCK OF E. MAPLE STREET Mr. Kelth Staton is appearing before the Board about disabled cars in ~ .~.the 700 block of E. Maple Street. Mr. Staton said they have about 3 disabled vehicles and one has been worked on for about 3 months, also oil, tools, and car parts are laying around in the street. Mayor Parker said this is a violation of our Ordinance and asked Capt. Rodden to investigate this. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at 09:55a.m., seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously.
