OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA
MONDAY AUGUST ?, 1995
Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.,
and on call of the roll those members present were Mayor Raymond J.
Parker Jr., Sewage Collection Office Director Jim Matra, City Engineer
Bob Miller filled in for Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman
in his absence.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin~ Street
Commissioner George Trembly, City Attorney Mike Gillenwater, Sewage
Office Manager Bob Goldman~ Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Police
Chief Charles Elder, Fire Chief Jerry Dooley, Parks Superintendent
Rick Elliott, Administrative Assistant Donna Baird, Wastewater
Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman, and Clerk Alice Davis.

P.E.R.F.
Chief Deputy Suzy Nevitt reported the PERF papers need to be signed
for Saffevelle Ingram to get his service from 1982-1985. Director
Matra made the motion to approve the paying of Saffevell Ingram as for
as his PERF is concerned, seconded by Member Miller, and carried
unanimously.
SPEED REDUCTION ON NORTH SPRING STREET
Police Chief Charles Elder has a request from Mrs. Nolan to have the
speed reduced from Dutch Lane to the light at Eastern Blvd. Chief
Elder said they have done an investigation on this going to Walnut
Ridge where the speed limit is 35 MPR, he said they will do another
survey on this and report back next week.
CLARK MEMORIAL HOSPITAl
Building Commissioner Bill Gavin has a request from Clark Memorial
Hospital making both sides of 13th Street NO PARKING between Akers and
Duncan Avenue. Bill is recommending this. Director Matra made the
motion to approve the NO PARKING on 13th Street between Akers and
Duncan Avenues~ seconded by Member Miller, and carried unanimously.
GREATER CLARK SCHOOLS AND ROSE HILL SCHOOL
Sandy Lewis~ representing Greater Clark Schools explained they sold

encroachment of the Rose Hill School on an approved alleyway owned by
the City of Jeffersonville and they are requesting the City to grant
an enchroachment easement. Director Matra made the motion to grant
the request of Sandy Lewis of Greater Clark Schools for the easement
encroachment~ seconded by Member Miller, and carried unanimously.

TAXI CAB SERVICE
William Arrington~ appeared before the Board to request a permit to
provide taxi cab service to the people in Indiana to different areas
of Indiana and to update his license. Attorney Gillenwater said he
would explain the process to Mr. Arrington after the meeting.
SEWER TAP-IN
Phil Buscher, representing Silgas is requesting to hook onto City
sewers when they relocate at 6101 Hamburg Pike in the Silver Creek
Industrial Park. Mayor Parker explained he would have to sign a
wavier in the event if we would annex that area he would not
remonstrait against the annexation~ and their sewage bills will be
higher because of not being in the City. Director Matra made the
motion to approve the sewer tap-in for Mr. Buscher~ 6101 Hamburg Pike
based on what Mr. Coleman has to say if there are any complications,
seconded by Member Miller, and carried unapimously.
YELLOW CURB
City Engineer Bob Miller has a request from Riverbenz Auto to have the
curb painted yellow on Spring Street in front of the new garage door.
Director Matra made the motion to approve painting the curb yellow on
Spring Street in front of the new garage door~ seconded by Member
Miller, and carried unanimously.
STREET LIGHT
City Engineer Bob Miller has a request for a

MEIGS AND 8TH STREET
Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman reported on the
manhole at 8th Street and Meigs Avenue. Jorge Lanz said the sinking
is not from the manhole and on Thursday and Friday they will be going
into the hole and doing a visual inspection.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public
Works and Safety, Director Matra made the motion to adjourn at
lO:OOa.m., seconded by Member Miller, and carried unanimoxly.
