MONDAY JULY 2A~ 1995
Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.~
mhd on call of the roll those members present were Mayor Raymond J.
Parker ~r., Sewage Collection Office Director Jim Marra, ~nd Fire
Chief Jerry Ooole~ filled in for Personnel and Safety Director Harold
Lakeman i~ his absence.
Also ~resent were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, Street
Commissione- George Trembly~ City Attorney Mike Gillenwater, Sewage
Office Manager Bob Goldman~ Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton~ Police
Chief Charles Elder, Animal Shelter Director Ed Voyles, City Services
Coordimator Leslie Kavanaugh, Parks Superintendent Rick Eliiott,
Administrative Assistant Donna Baird~ Wastewater Treatment Manager
Kendall Coleman. Clerk and Treasurer C. Richard Spemcer Jr.~ and Clerk
Alice Davis.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting
of July 10 & 17, 1995 as ~resented~ seconded by Director Matra and
carried unanimously.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented~
seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously.
CHIPPER TRUCK BIDS
Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton recommended to give the Chipper Truck
bid to Kentucky Truck Sales for $35~382.00, contingent upon a check
from the State through Solid Waste. Director Matra made the motion to
approve the b~d for the chipper truck contingent upon the State
sending a check~ seconded bv Member Dooley~ and carried unanimously.
PEDDLER'S PERMIT
Alfred Mason~ 233 W. Broadway, Louisville~ Ky 40202 is l-equesting a
Peddler's Permit ~o sell Watkins Products, he specializes in perfumes
that contain no alchol, his hours wi~i be from 12 noon-5:OOP.M..
Mayor Parxer exolained ~.~hat has to be done to get the permit and bring
the recommendation to next weeks meeting.

VISSING PARK ROAD
Steve Klein, Klein Development and Real Estate is requesting to use
Vissing Park Road to get to the Silo Ridge Subdivision ~here he is
building new homes~ he has been using Capital Hills Subdivision roads
and has had numerous complaints from the neighbors for' the big trucks.
Mayor P~rker said we need to consider the Hospital thats located there
and also the load limit. David Blankenbeker also spoke on the behalf
of Mr. Klein. George Trembly read a letter from City Engineer Bob
Miller stating he is against this. Mayor Parker said he ~ould like to
table thim.

PEDDLER'S PERMIT
Mike O].iver~ Southeastern Management is requesting a Peddler's Permit
to sell perfume to businesses. City Attorney Mike Gillenwater said
there is no permit needed to sell to businesses. Mayor Parker asked
Mr. Oliver to register with the Police Department in event of problem.
LANDSCAPE BOX AT 4!5 E. 10TH STREET
Tony Elzy did not appear before the Board concerning the landscape
box, Administrative Assistant Baird said that Mr. Etzy contacted her
and he ~ould like to know what the decision was. Mayor Parker asked
Donna to call him and tell him he is on State right of way.
CONSTRUCTION OF STORAGE BUILDING AT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman is requesting to
proceed with the construction of a storage building for the Plant.
Kendall said the cost would be appro×imately be $~4~157.B4, with
Starlite Construction doing the work. Member Dooley made the motion
to approve the bid for the storage building, seconded by Director
Marra~ and carried unanimously~
STOP SIGN AT GALE DRIVE AND REED LANE
Police Chief Charles Elder sa~d he is reporting on the stop sign
request of a couple of weeks ago for Gale Drive and Reed Lane that
Capt~ Schmidt and City Engineer Miller approved but Street
Commissioner George Trembly had some opposition and Chief Elder had
the same Chief Elder said he did more investigating on this with the
neighbors and there are 19 names who wanted the sign. Chief Elder
recommends to have the sign installed. Member Dooley made the motion
to approve the stop sign at Reed Lane and Gale Drive, seconded by
Director Matra, and carried unanimously.
POLICE SECURITY REQUEST
Police Chief Charles Elder said he talked with Jeff Fry, and St.
Augustine's Church Picnic weekend is Friday August 11~ and Sunday
August 13, 1995 and he is requesting ~ uniformed Police Officers on
Friday and I on Sunday for security. Member Dooley made the motion to
approve the request, seconded by D~rector Matra, and carried
unanimously.

Police Chief' Elder said he wants to brimg ib to the Mayors attention
and thank Commissioner Gavin on two different occassions, one was a
cave2~n on Sharon Dr'ire amd the other was ar~ electrical shock where a
man died in the 1100 block of Mechanic Street.When they receive these
calls they have to contact Mr. Gavin, in both cases Mr. Gavin beat him
to the scene. Chief Elder said he would like to thank him for being
there.

TRAFFIC CHECK ON BRIM DRIVE
Street Commissioner Trembly reported for City Engineer Mille,- on the
parking problem on Brim Drive at the Nursing Home. Commissioner
Trembly said the builder gave them the first lot on the right side
behind the Nursing Home for parking, they have not made it a parking
lot yet, the employees park on both sides of the street and there is
no way a fire truck could get through. Commissioner Trembly is asking
that the Police Traffic Officer check on this or we can put No Parking
signs up. City Attorney Gillenwater said George needs to tall< to the
Nursing Home and let them know whats going to happen.
RESIDENTIAL PARKING
Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott has a request from a resident at 509
Crestview Drive for a residential parking sign because of baseballs
hitting his car and causing him damage. Rick said he would like to
make an exception and put up a residential sign in front of his house.
Fire Chief Dooley maid he would like to look into this also to make
sure the fire truck can turn onto Crestview from Charlesto~n Avenue.
Mayor Parker asked Chief Dooley and Rick to bring there
recommendations back to the Board next week.
