Office Manager Bob Goldman, Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton: Fire Chief
Jerry Dooley, Animal Shelter Director Ed Voyles, City Services
Coordinator Leslie Kavanaugh, Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott,
Administrative Assistant Donna Baird, Wastewater Treatment Manager
Kendall Coleman, and Clerk Alice Davis.
Director Matra made the motion to approve the m~nutes of the meeting
of July B 1995 as presented~ seconded by Member Elder and carried
unanimously.

STEAMBOAT DAYS FESTIVAL
Pat Eider representing Steamboat Days Festival Committee presented a
list of events, activities and starting dates. The festival will be
held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday September 8 9, 10~ 1995. Mayor
Parker said that Donna Baird is the City Coordinator and she w~ll help
Mrs. Elder get things started. Mrs. Elder said there maybe one other
event an Air Show on Sunday°
CHERRY CREEK LIFT STATION
WAstewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman reported on the
Cherry Creek Townhouse Lift Station. Kendall said an inspection has
been performed and everything looks good~ but he cannot make a
recommendation today on the lift station because they have not
provided the proper documentation. Kendall wants to table this until
he receive the documentation.
1996 OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY
Administrative Assistant Donna Bai~d reported the City of
Jeffersonville has been chosen as a site for the 1996 Olympic Torch
Relay to come through Clarksville and l.ouieville has also been
chosen. This will be in the Spring of'96 and Donna has a list of
items the City has agreed to provide to 'the Atlanta Committee for the
Olympic Games. Mayor Parker asked Donna to pursue and let their Board
know they have the approval of our Board.(see copy)
ROADBLOCK JEFF/GRC GIRLS SOFTBALL
Evon Homeistec representing Jeff/GRC Major Girl's Softball Team is
requesting 'to have a roadblock to pay for the Teams travels. Bob's
Pub wants to sponser a roadblock at Main and Market Streets, and have
another at Dutch Lane and Hamburg Pike on Tuesday July 18, 1995 from
3:30pm-?:OOpm. Director Matra made the motion to approve the
roadblock, seconded by Member Elder~ and carried unanimously.

GERALD HALLOWS CITED INTO THE BOARD
City Services Coordinator Les Kavanaugh cited Gerald Hallows to appear
before the Board of Public Works and Safety today because of
complaints from his neghbors for dumping chips and logs in his yard.
Mr. Kavanaugh said a letter was sent on May 15~ 1995 to Mr. Hallows by
City Attorney Gillenwater concerning solid waste dumping on his
property on Lee Road. On July 10, 1995 Mi-. Kavanaugh sent Mr. Hallows
a letter to inform him he is requested to appeal- before the Board of
Public Works and Safety Monday July 17, 1995 at 9:30am in tine Mayor's
Conference Room~ for direct violation of City Ordinance 9B-OR-31
Operation of an unpermitted landfill. There is also a letter from
Clark County Solid Waste Mangement Director Jerry Fuller concerning
the ordor and Aspergillus fumigatus. Mr. Hallows was given 14 days
August 1, 1995 to comply. Director Matra made the motion to allowing
MR. Hollows 14 days August 1: 1995 to comply with what City Attorney
Gillenwater and City Services Coordinator Kavanaugh has said, seconded
by Member Elder, and carried unamimously. There is a tape in the
Clerk-Treasurers Office. (see copy of letters).
DRAIHAGE BETWEEN ELK POINTE AND COUNTRY CLUB ESTATE~
,.City Attorney Mike Gillenwater said Ire would l~ke to table this until
next week because City Engineer Bob Miller is not available.
EYE LEVEL ADVERTISING
City Attorney Mike Giltenwatel- said he talked with Mike Cousins about
the bench signs~ he has made some inquiries about our current contract
with Eye Level Adverbising, and hae been in touch with them to obtain
some of the information which they are required by contract to provide
to the City in regards to their locations~ and their revenues~ Mike
has not been able to receive this information. In the attempt that
Eye Level Advertising does not comply with the request he will be
requesting the Board to declair that contract be in default. M~ke is
not sure they have paid the City the money they are required to pay,
and will keep the City updated on this.
STREET CLOSING
Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman is requesting
permission to close 8th Street between Walnut and Penn Streets with
detour to 9th Street for work to be done on the Collection System at
Meigs Avenue.
Ther'e being no further business to come before the Board of Public
Works and Safety, Director Lakeman at

made the motion to adjourn
and carried unanimously.
