MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
WEDNESDAY JUNE 28, 1995
Sewage Collection Office Manager Jim Matra called the meeting to order
at 1:00 P.M. in the absence of Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr.~ and on
call of the roll those members present were Personnel and Safety
Director Harold Lakeman, and Member Fire Chief Jerry Dooley filling in
for Jim Matra.
Also present were: Wastewater Treatment Manager Kendall Coleman, and
Clerk Alice Davis.
PSI CONTRACT
Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman is requesting the
Boards approval for a contract with PSI Energy~s Peak Reduction
Program. Kendall said this program will involve Peak electrical
reduction at the main Wastewater Treatment Facility and loth Street
Pump Station. If PSI calls telling us they want our generator to go
on line we have to reduce our KW usage by 500kw at the main facility
and 200kw at the loth Street Pump Station. PSI will credit the City
for $i0~500.00 paid out as a bill credit over a four month period of
this agreement~ the four months are June, July, August and September.
They have to give us a 1/R hr. notice and can occur on 14 different
occasions out of the 4 month period, it cannot occur on weekends and
holidays, time will be between 2:00p.m.-8:OOp.m. for a couple of hours
or an 8 hour period. The Plan Energy program and PSI no longer have
an agreement, there is no reinbursement available through Plan
Energy.the City was in contract with. Kendall will write a letter to
Plan Energy stating we no longer want to be in paricipat~on with their
program, that will void the contract, it's a one year renewable
contract~ we have to give 150 days notice. Director Lakeman made the
motion to approve the PSI Contract for Peak Electrical Reduction
Program~ seconded by Member Dooley~ and carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public
Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at 1:15
P.M., seconded by Member Jerry Dooley, and carried unanimously.
