OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA
MONDAY ~NE~5., 1995
Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30
and on call of the roll those members present were Mayor Raymond J.
Parker Jr., Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman, and Sewage
Collection Office Director Jim Matra.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, City Engineer Bob
Miller, Street Commissioner George Trembly~ City Attorney Mike
Gillenwater, Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman, Maintenance Foreman
Mike Ewton, Police Chief Charles Elder, Fire Chief Jerry Dooley~
Animal Shelter Director Ed Voyles, Assistant Parks Superintendent Rich
Elliott, Administrative Assistant Donna Baird, Wastewater Treatment
Manager Kendall Coleman, and Clerk Alice Davis.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting
of May 30, 1995 as presented~ seconded by Director Matra and carried
unanimously.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented~
seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously.
BIDS FOR THE CHIPPER TRUCK
Street Commissioner George Trembly reported that Mike from Kentucky
Truck Sales is bringing a truck today to the Street Department and
leaving it so Mike Gillenwater and George can go over and make the
recommendation.
ROAD CLOSURE
Tom Bogel, representing Industrial Water Recycling is requesting to
have Market to Spring to ?th Streets to BFW Blvd. closed to move barge
covers from Jeff Boat to the Industrial Water Recycling Plant on E.
lOth Street. The covers are 17'x~8~ and wiii be 14'-15' high with a
total of 11~ will have to do ~ loads, 1 with 6 and I with 5 on
they weigh 6000lbs each. Mayor Parker asked Mr. Bogel to get with
Police Chief Elder and George Trembly to coordinate with them. It
will take A-8 hours to install them. Chief Elder said there should be
an agreement that with this being so large if there is any damage done
to the road or anything thats along the way they or the movers will
have to be responsible. George said he thinks if they go down Market
to Missouri Street to BFW Blvd. and straight into the plant would be a
better route. Director ~akeman made the motion to approve the
transportation of the 17~x~8' covers ~or Industrial Water Recycling,
the recommendated dates will be determined later~ seconded by Director
Matra, and carried unanimously.
BUDGETS
Administrative Assistant Donna Baird passed a sign up sheet around to
the Department Heads to sign for the pre-budget meetings.
STREET CLOSED
City Engineer Bob Miller reminded everyone that Charlestown/New Albany
Pike will be closed On Wednesday and Thursday for railroad repairs.

STREET LIGHTS
City Engineer Bob Miller has requests for a total of 15 street lights
for Golfview Estates~ 8 for St. Andrews Road, ? for Augusta, total 15.
Also i at ?04 and 302 Brim Drive~ Bridgeview Subdivision off of 8th.
Street. and 1 at 3303 and 3305 Childers Drive, Eastgate Subdivision.
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the street lights request
by City Engineer Bob Millers seconded by Director Matra, and carried
unanimously.
'95-1/B TON PICK-UP TRUCK
Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman reported that he
took bids on a '95 1/2 ton pick-up truck, they were from Vissings
Dodge, Carriage Ford, Sloan GMC. The lowest bid was Vissing's Dodge at
$11,194.45. (see copy) Director Matra made the motion to approve the
low bid from Vissing's Dodge for a '95-1/2 ton pick-up truck at a cost
of $11,194.45, seconded by Director Lakeman, and carried unanimously.
WASTEWATER FLOWS AND LOADINGS
Wastewater Treatment Plamt Manager Kendall Coleman presented a
Wastewater Flows and Loadings report to the Board. (see copy)
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the Wastewater Treatment
Plant Flows and Loadings report, seconded by Director Marra~ and
carried unanimously.
