Parker Jr. called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.~ and on call of the roll those members present ~ere Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr., Personnel and Safety Director Harold Lakeman~ and Sewage Collection Office Director Jim Matra. Also present were: Building Commissioner Bill Gavin~ City Engineer Bob Miller, Street Commissioner George Trembly~ City Attorney Mike Gillenwater, Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman, Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton~ Assistant Police Chief Charles Thompson, Fire Chief Jerry Dooley, Animal Shelter Director Ed Voyles~ City Services Coordinator Leslie Kavanaugh~ Parks Superintendemt Donnie Poole~ Administrative Assistant Donna Baird, Wastewater Treatment Manage,- Kendall Coleman, and Clerk Alice Davis. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting of March 6~ 1995 as presented~ seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls seconded by Director Matra and carried unanimously. MYRTLE STREET CLEAN UP as presented~ City Engineer Bob Miller and Building Commissioner Bill Gavin said they are to meet with the people concerning the Myrtle Street clean up on Thursday at 10:00 am. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS This was tabled and will be brought up at the next meeting. VENDOR'S PERMIT James Carrico is requesting a tent permit at 1710 E. lOth Street in front of Winn Dixie, for the Spring Plant sale. The tent will be 40x80, there will be S employees. Bill Gavin said the permit will be good for 30 days. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the tent permit for James Carried at 1710 E.lOth Street from A-15~ 1995- 5-15, 1995 with the possibility of extending the permit~ seconded by Director Marra~ and carried unanimously. REQUEST FOR INVENTORY OF VEHICLES Mayor Parker reported a Councilperson is requesting all Departments take an inventory of all their vehicles, and condition of equipment. This will be funding for Capital Improvement for the future. The pro~ected date that certain items will be replaced, they want this prior of budget time. Mayor Parker signed a proclammtion declaring March ADA awareness month. LEAVE OF ABSENCE PAGE 1995 Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton is requesting a leave of absence for Dave Turner without pay for medical reasons due to hip surgery. Dave will be responsible for his insurance premium. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve a BO day leave of absence for Dave Turner: seconded by Director Matra, and carried unanimously. (see copy) Mayor Parker congratulated Assistant Police Chief Charles Thompson for being Policeman of the Year, and also Arson Investigator Clark Miles for being Fireman of the Year. There being no further business to Works and Safety~ Director Lakeman 9:50a.m.~ seconded by Director come before the Board of Public made the motion to adjourn at Marra~ and carried unanimously.
