OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MONDAY oCTOB~R 1~ ~996 '
Mayor Thomas R. Galligan called the meeting to Order at 9:30 A.M., and
on call of the roll those members present were: personnel Director
Harold Lakeman, and Safety Director Anthony Harrod.
AlSo present were: Street Commissioner George TremblY, City Engineer
Bob Miller, City Attorney Anne Marie Sedwick, Police Chief Mike PaVey,
Sewage Office Manager Bob GoldmanFire Chief Mike Smith, Assistant Fire
Chief William Davis, Animal Shelter Director Jim Glllenwater, Parks
Superintendent Rick Elliott, Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant
Scott Tlmmerman, and Clerk Alice Davis
Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes Of the meeting
of October 7, 1996, with the correction, seconded by Director Harrod,
and carried unanimously.
Director Lakeman made the motion to apProve the payrolls as presented
seconded by Director Harrod and carried unanimously.
REQUEST OF DENNIS JULIUS TO MAKE KENTUCKY AVENUE ONE WAY NORTH
The requeSt from DenniS Julius to make'Kentucky Avenue one way North
was approved. Director Harrod ~ade the motion to approve the request
from Dennis Julius to make ~ Kentucky Avenue one way going North,
seconded by Director Lakeman, and carried unanimously.
RESIDENTIAL PARKING REQUEST AT 602 GRAHAM STREET
Police Chief Mike Pavey reported that he Sent capt. Schmidt to 602
Graham to investigate to see if Susan Cla~t'o'n'needs a residential
Sign. Capt,- SChmidt ~eported there is ample parking at the front and
sides. After much discussion it wasdecided to give the residential
parking sign. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the
residentialsign request, seconded by Director Harrod, and Carried
unanimously..
RESIDENT PARKING REQUEST FOR MARGIE HOMMEL
Director Tony Harrod is requesting a resident parking for Margie
Hommel in the 200 block of E. Maple Street. The Lay Ministries is
next door to her home and she has at times no place to park. Mayor
Galligan asked Chief Pavey to investage this and bring his
recommendations back to the next Board meeting.
REQUEST TO PUT UP DAR SIGNS AT ENTRANCE TO THE CITY
Mary Lou Byers is requesting permission to put up a sign for DAR for
publicity of the organization. Ms. Byers is asking to place one sign
at anyone entrance to the City. Mayor Galllgan suggested to have one
put at exit O and then move the sign to the main entrance when we are
finished with it. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the
sign request for DAR at exit 0 and then move it the main entrance when
it is finished, seconded by Director Harrod, and carried unanimously.

CLOSINC RUCK LANE FOR HALLOWEEN PARADE
1996
Jennifer Coward ls requesting to close Ruck Lane for a Ealloween
Parade for the neighborhood on October 30, 1996 between 5:45-6~30 P.M.
Ruck Lane is a deadend. Director Lakeman made the motion to approye
the closing of Ruck Lane from 5:30-7:30 p.m., seconded by Director
Harrod, and carried unanimously. Mayor Galligan said they can use
barracades if needed~
SEWER SERVICE FOR NEW SUBDIVISION
Bob Isgrigg said that Roger Schmidt is developing Landsburg Cove and
has five acres adjacent to Landsburg Cove and he would like to
corporate into the residential area there. There maybe 12-13 lots and
it will be a continuation of what he has and is requesting for sewer
service there. Director Harrod made the motion to approve the sewers
for Roger Schmidt in Landsburg Cove addition, seconded by Director
Lakeman, and carried unanimously.
STOP SIGN AT MARKET AND GRAHAM STREETS
Marvin Grant of Jeffboat is requesting a three way Stop at the
entrance of Jeffboat~ because of a traffic problem. Director Lakeman
made the motion to approve the 3-way stop at the entrance of Jeffboat,
seconded by Director Barr0d, and carried unanimously.
STREET LIGHT AT 210 E. pARK PLACE
Director Harrod reported there was a man in here last week aSking for
a street light at 210 E~ Park Place. Engineer Miller said there are
three lights and they don't need anymore.. After discussion.Mayor
Calligan asked Engineer Miller to moye the light across the street to
see if that will solve the problem. .~ , .....
There being no further business to come before the Board of Pub!ic
Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at 9:.55
A.M., seconded by Director Harrod, and c~rried unanimously.
