HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-21-1996MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY OCTOBER 21, 1996 Mayor Thomas R. Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Mayor Thomas R. Galligan, Personnel Director Harold Lakeman, and Safety Director Anthony Harrod. Also present were~ City Engineer Bob Miller, Street Commissioner George Trembly, Fire Chief Mike Smith,Assistant Fire Chief William Davis, Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott ,stewater Treatment Plant Assistant Scott Timmerman,Police Chief Mike Pavey,Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, City Attorney Anne Marie Sedwick, and Clerk Lynne Kempf. Director Lakemanmade the motion to of October 14, 1996 as presented, carried unanimously. approve the minutes of the meeting seconded by Director Harrod and Director Harrod made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. RESIDENT PARKING Resident Margie ~ommel had requested a ~ident parking only sign at her address at 218 E. Maple Street. Police Chief Mike Pavey checked the location and sees no problem with the request. Director Harrod made the motion to approve the request, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. EASTLAWN ARMS Robert Mead of Eastlawn Arms is requesting a credit of water usage that doesn't go through the sewer system for the purpose of watering trees and shrubs. After discussion, the Mayor said a meeting would be set up between himself, Mr. Mead, and Sewer Office Manager Bob Goldman to work out this problem. /~ PEBSCO Bob Monaghan, Sales Director for Pebsco, who markets Deferred Compensation Programs for municipalities presented information and advantages of their service. Director Harrod made the motion to take this under advisement, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. ~ PAGE 2 OCTOBER 21, PEBBLEBROOK STREET LIGHTS City Engineer Bob Miller has measured 1996 to install 3 street lights in Pebblebrook Subdivision. Director Harrod made the motion to approve, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. ELKE POINTE DRAINAGE PROBLEM City Engineer Bob Miller requested next meeting. cancelling this matter until the SPRUCE DRIVE Director Lakeman said he had received a complaint from resident Tim Fisher about speeding near his home in the Highland Park area. Police Chief Mike Pavey said he would check out this complaint and report back. PERSONNEL MATTER Street Commissioner George Trembly requests that employee William Baker's salary be reduced by .25 cents an hour due to losing his CDL license recently. Director Harrod made the motion to approve, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at 10:10am, seconded by Director Harrod, an~ carried u~nimously.
