Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were, Mayor Thomas R. Galligan, Personnel Director Harold Lakeman, and Safety Director Anthony Harrod. Also present were: Deputy to the Mayor Phil McCauley, Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, City Engineer Bob Miller, Street Commissioner George Trembly, City Attorney Anne Marie Sedwick, Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Assistant Fire Chief William Davis~ Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Animal Shelter Director Jim Glllenwater, Planning and Development Director Jim Urban~ Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott, Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman, Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Manager Joe Goergen, and Clerk Alice Davis. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting of April 1, 1996 as presented, seconded by Director Harrod and carried unanimously. Director motion to table this until next week, carried unanimously. he has no report Lakeman made the seconded by Director Harrod and ANNUAL INSPECTION Fire Chief Mike Smith is requesting to have an annual DOT inspection on the cars and trucks at the Fire Department. The cost will be $420.00 per year, 10 vehicles at $42.~0 each. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the annual DOT inspection at the Fire Department, seconded by Director Harrod and carried unanimously. NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER Donald Mangels is requesting the City participate in the National Day of Prayer on Thursday May 2: 1996 at noon for three hours, and is also asking that they get assistance from the Police Department, one lane of the 2nd Street Bridge Northbound will be closed. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the Police Department working with Dan Mengels so the walk goes off safely, seconded by Director Harrod, and carried unanimously. PEDDLER'S PERMIT PAGE 2 APRIL 8, 1996 Harry Wilder is requesting a Peddler's Permlt for the year~ Director Harrod made the motion to approve the permit, seconded by Director Lakeman, and carried unanimously. PEDDLER'S PERMIT Steven W. Bowers of All-Weather Systems is requesting s permit did not appear before the Board. DOCK SLIP APPROVALS peddler's Building Commissioner Bill Gavin is requesting approval for 3 boat dock applications. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve 3 boat dock rentals, seconded by Director Harrod, and carrled unanimously. Commissioner Gavin said the dock numbers are 133, 55~ & 46. ROAD CLOSURE ON HAMBURG PIKE City Engineer Bob Miller is requesting Hamburg Pike be closed for one day next week for installation of a storm sewer Sprigler Subdivision and direct the traffic through Industrial Park: Director Lakeman made the motlon to approve the closing of Hamburg Plke for one day, seconded by Director Harrod~ and carried unanimously. STREET CLOSING FOR WALL STREET CAFE Corky Scales is requesting street closing for Wall Street Cafe did not appear before the Board. TRASH CONTRACT REMINDER Street Commissioner George Trembly is reminding the Board that he will be presenting the trash contract at next weeks meeting. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to ad3ourn at 9=55a.m., seconded by Director Harrod, and carried unanimously.
