Also present were: Assr.Parks Superintendent Rlck Elliott, Police Chief Mike Pavey~ Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman, Building Commissioner Yancy Pinkston~ Animal Shelter Manager Rick Broy, Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman~Vehlc!e Maintenance Supervisor Mike Ewton, Fire Chief Mike Smith, City Attorney Anne Marie Galligan ~ and Clerk Lynne Kempf. Planning and Development Director Urban made the motion to approve the minutes as presented~ seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claims presented~ seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll presented~ seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. as as 400 W. MARKET STREET Chief Pavey recommended a "Resident Only" parking sign for one end or the other of the apartment complex at 40~ W. Market Street. Director Urban made the motion to approve the "Resident Only" parking sign on the west side of the lot, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. SUPER 8 MOTEL At a previous meeting, Umang Blatt had requested a street light be installed near 21S2 Hwy. 31 for motorists visibility.City Engineer Miller asked that the motel bear the cost of the light. Mr. Blatt was going to check on this. After some di~cussion~ it was decided to table this until next week. CIVIL AI9 PATROL City Attorney Galllgan said she has redrafted the license agreement with Civil Air Patrol. Director Urban made the motion to approve the redrafted license agreement and make the building a non-smoking facility, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. P~GE 2 NOVEMBER ~ o~ 1997 SCHULER REALTY LOU Stein and Pam Deerlnger appeared before the Board to introduce themselves and present to the City a Corporate Benefits Program. They offer employees a way to save money when they buy or sell a home. He would like to be the only company to offer this service to the City for one year. MARTIN LUTHER KING COMMITTEE Saundra Johnson requested a parade permit for January 19th at 12:15 p.m. The parade will begin at Bethel AM Church. She also requested that a banner be put up. Director Urban made the motion to approve the parade permit and the banner, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. HUNCILMAN ENTERPRIoEo City ~ ....orney Galligan said that she received a phone message from Cary Majors of Huncilman Enterprises saying the cans forgarbage would be at the Magnolia Avenue apartments any day now. WYANDOT ENTERPRISES City Attorney Galligan said a letter has Enterprises concerning the drainage ditch. been sent to Wyandot CITATIONS 1~12 LOCUST STREET Building Commissioner Pinkston cited Chris Schuler for property he owns at 1~!2 Locust Street. BC Plnkston said the house is a hazard and needs to be torn down~ Mr, Schuler said he has plans to tear the house down in the coming year. Mayor Galligan said something would be worked out on the time frame~ le39,ie41~llll~ & 1113 WATT STREET Owner Pete Newsom said he has sold these houses. 916 WALNUT STREET Building Commissioner Pinkston gave Mr~ Newsom 10 more days to get the grass cut and gave him 9e days to clean up his property. PAGE 3 NOVEMBER 3, 19~ 2~21 HAMBURG PIKE Building Commissioner Plnkston said he spoke with Catherine Hamblen of 2021 Hamburg Pike. She told him that the City agreed to give her a free sewer tap-in in exchange for an easement to the mobile home park. She will try to get the document stating this from her attorney. Mayor Galtlgan said she has to get on the sewer or tear the house down. He said she will also need to obtain a permit. 912 MEIGS AVENUE Building Commissioner Pinkston said he has gotten no response from John Relsert or Jaime Huffman and the house needs to be demolished at 912 Meigs Avenue. City Attorney Galligan said a cost needs to be estimated on tearing it down. Director Urban made the motion to table this for one week so it can be looked at more closely, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. KINGSFIELD SUBDIVISION Planning and Zoning Director Urban asked for approval of the letter of credit for the Kingsfleld Subdivlsion~ Sections 3 and 4. Mayor Galligan said it could not be approved until one year after completion. City Engineer Miller made the motion to table this matter until next week~ seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. There being no further buslneos to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 10:3~ a.m.~ seconded by Planning and Development Director Urban and carried unanimously.
