OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8,1997
Mayor Thomas Galllgan called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M. and on
call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller,
and Planning and Development Director Jim Urban.
Also present were: Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman, Asst. Parks
Superintendent Rick Elllott,Police Chief Mike Pavey, Wastewater
Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman, Fire Chief Mike
Smith, Building Commissioner Yancy Pinkston, Animal Shelter Director
Jim Glllenwater, City Engineer Bob Miller, Vehicle Maintenance
Supervisor Mike Ewton, Planning and Development Director Jim Urban and
Clerk Lynne Kempf.
Director Urban made the motion to approve the minutes of September 2,
1997, as presented, seconded by City Engineer Bob Miller and carried
unanimously.
Director Urban made the motion to approve the claims as presented,
seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payrolls
presented, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously.

RESIDENT PARKING
Police Chief Pavey said he checked out the location of 820 Melgs Ave.
for Pam Eades and he recommends the resident parking sign. Director
Urban made the motion to approve the resident only parking sign,
seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
TENT REVIVAL
Rev. Robert Grant asked permission to hold a tent revival at Henry
Lansden Park on September 19th through the end of September. Director
Urban made the motion to approve tent revival pending Park Board
approval, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.

PEDDLER PERMIT
Scott Rowe of 424 Beckett Street asked approval of a peddler's permit
to sell computers and electrical equipment door to door under the.n~me
of Affordable Computer Outfits. Mayor Galligan told Mr. ~ to get
the necessary retail merchant forms from the State and then come back
to the Board for approval of the Peddler permit. Director Urban made
the motion to table the Peddler permit until he get's~h6 requi~d
permits from the State, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried
u~an!mously.
ELKE POINTE
Conrad Embry of 3503 Elke Pointe Boulevard spoke in regards to a
building code violation on the stair clearance inside his house.
Building Commissioner Plnkston said he would go out and look at this
problem.
ELECTRICAL BREAKERS
Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman asked
approval of the purchase of two breakers for vertical mixers on
oxidation ditch at a cost of $1,700.0~ per breaker. Director Urban
made the motion to approve the purchase of two breakers, seconded by
City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
RESIDENT PARKING
Mayor Galligan asked for a resident only parking sign in front of
Garland Oakes home at 408 E. Chartestown Avenue. Director Urban made
the motion to approve the resident only parking sign, seconded by City
Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public
Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at
!0:00 a.m., seconded by Planning and Development Dlrector Urban and
carried unanimously.
