HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-23-1997 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEF~ERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY JUNE 23,1997 Planning and Development Director Jim Urban, in Mayor's Galligan's absence,called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Safety Director Harold Lakeman, and filling in for Director Urban was City Engineer Bob Miller. Also present were: Street Commissioner George Trembly, Planning and Development Director Jim Urban,City Engineer Bob Miller, Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman, Sewage Office Mananger Bob Goldman, Building Commissioner Yancy Pinkston, Redevelopment Director Donna Kammeyer, Police Chief Mike Pavey, and Clerk Lynne Kempf. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented, seconded by City Engineer Bob Miller and carried unanimously. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. HANDICAPPED PAPJ{ING The police checked out the location of Charles Hardin at 1704 Herby Drive and recommended the handicapped sign. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the handicapped parking sign seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. HEAD START AWARENESS DAY Leigh Ann Klein spoke in regards to Head Start Awareness Day. She asked the city to close the street on Court Avenue between Wall and Spring on July 26th from 12-5 p.m. Director Lakeman made the motion to close the street, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. FAIR HOUSING SEMINAR Donna Kammeyer gave information on the Fair Housing Seminar to be held on Friday, June 27th in the Mayor's Conference Room from 8:00 to 12:00 noon. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT REPORT 1997-98 Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman asked approval of the Capital Improvement Report that he turned in at the last Board MeetinG. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the report, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. JUNE 23, 1997 PAGE 2 FLOWS AND LOADING REPORT Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman asked for approval on the Flows and Loading Report. After looking over it, Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the report, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. 1996 ANNUAL INVENTORY REPORT Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman presented the 1996 Annual Inventory Report for approval. The inventory amount is $7,700,000.00. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the Inventory Report, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. BID OPENING-SURPLUS PARKS PROPERTY Planning and Development Director Jim Urban reported that he received one bid from Clark County Habitat for Humanity on 2 lots at the end of Birchwood Drive. The bid for the two lots is S19,000.00. Director Lakeman made the motion to accept the bid, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at 10:30 a.m., seconded by City Engineer Miller, and carried unanimously.
