HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-09-1997MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY JUNE 9,1997 Deputy Mayor Phil McCauley called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Personnel Director Harold Lakeman, and Planning and Development Director Jim Urban. Also present were: Street Commissioner George Trembly, Planning and Development Director Jim Urban,City Engineer Bob Miller, Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott, Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott Tlmmerman,Asslstant Police Chief John Monihon Fire Chief Mike Smith,Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman, Vehicle and Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, and Clerk Lynne Kempf. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. Director Urban made the motion to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the claims as presented, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. ROADBLOCK REQUEST Judy Brooner of Rolling Fields Baptist Church Youth Group asked permission to hold a roadblock on June 13th and 20th at Dutch Lane and Hamburg Pike. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the roadblock, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. SOLICITOR'S PERMIT John Vanderhorst, Jr. of 2704 Alan Meade in Louisville requested a solicitors permit to sell candies door to door for a youth group Assistant Police Chief Monihon said there have been problems with this type of thing in the past. Director Urban made the motion to deny the solicitors permit, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously. ROADBLOCK Karen Elder of the Southern Indiana Elite asked permission to hold a roadblock on Saturday, June 14th at Main and Market and Hamburg Pike and Dutch Lane. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the roadblock, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. JUNE 9, 1997 PAGE 2 INTER-CITY ROAD CLAIMS Two claims were submitted by Redevelopment Secretary Donna Kammeyer for approval. Jacobi, ToombS, and Lanz submitted an invoice for $3,076,88 with the Jeff Portion being $1,538.44 for the Intercity Road Project. and another inVoice for $750.00. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the claims, seconded by Director Urban and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, DireCtor Lakeman made the motion to ad3ourn at 9:45 a.m., seconded by Director Urban and carr/~d ATTES a ~AYOR
