Harold Lakeman,
Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.~ and
roll those members present were: Personnel Director
and Safety Director Anthony Harrod.
Also present were: Street Commissioner George Trembly~ City Engineer
Bob Miller, City Attorney Anne Marie Sedwick, Sewage Office Manager
Bob Goldman~ Parks Superintendent Rick El!iott~ Wastewater Treatment
Plant Assistant Director Scott Timmerman: Police Chief Mike Pavey,
Fire Chief Mike Smith,Building Commissioner Bill Gavin, and Clerk
Lynne Kempf.
Director Harrod made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented,
seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously.
HANDICAPPED PARKING
Police Chief Pavey said the location of 316 Wall Street was checked
and he recommended a handicapped parking sign for Alberta Long.
Director Hsrrod made the motion to approve the sign, seconded by
Director Lakeman and carried unanimouSlY.
KEWANNA DRIVE
Police Chief Pavey recommended installing 25 mph speed limit signs on
Kewanna Drive between 8th Street and Park Place. Director Lakeman
made the motion to approve the signs, seconded by Director Harrod and
carried unanimously.
THUNDER OVER LOUISVILLE STREET CLOSURES
Police Chief ~avey presented a list of street Closures for Thunder
Over Louisville~ (list attached) Director Harrod made the motion to
approve the street closures, seconded by Director Lakeman and carried
uDanimously.
UTICA PIKE SIGN
Police Chief Pavey recommended a speed limit sign on Utica Pike near
Brighton Avenue. Director Harrod made the motion to approve the sign~
seconded by Director Lakeman and carried unanimously.

RESIDENT PARKING SIGN REQUEST
Cora Townsend of 939 E. Maple Street requested a "resident only" sign
in front of her residence. She has a handicapped parking sign but
others are parking in that spot. Street Commissioner Trembly said
that the existing sign would have resident only added to it.
SOUTHERN INDIANA AVENUE CHANGE
Mayor Galligan said that the City Council had voted unanimously to
change Southern Indiana Avenue back to Illlno!s Avenue. Director
Harrod made the motion to change the name back, seconded by Director
Lakeman and carried unanimously.
701 E. CHESTNUT CONDEMNATION
Building Commissioner Gavin stated that 7~1 E. Chestnut Street needs
to be condemned. Mayor Galligan designated the Board of Public Works
to be the hearing agency for the Unsafe Building Law. A letter was
sent out Friday, March 21, 1997 to the owners of the property at 7~1
E. Chestnut Street to remove the building as it is an unsafe
structure. City Attorney Sedwick said the action taken on Friday,
March 21, 1997 needed to be ratified by the Board. Directo~ Harrod
made the motion to ratify the actlon~ seconded by Director Lakeman and
carried unanimously.
PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE
Mayor Galligan said that "No Parking Signs" needed to be put up
between 12th Street and Peaceley Street. Mayor Galligan also said
that "No Dumping" signs are needed on 9th Street. Director Lakeman
made the motion to approve the no parking signs and no dumplng signs,
seconded by Director Harrod and carried unanimously.
