Galligan called the meeting to order at 9,30 A.M., and
roll those members present were, Personnel Director
and Safety Director Anthony Ha?rod.
Also present were: Street Commissioner George Trembly, City Engineer
Bob Miller, City Attorney Anne Marie Sedwlck, Sewage Office Manager
Bob Goldman, Parks Superintendent Rick Elllott, Vehicle Maintenance
Foreman Mike Ewton,Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Scott
Timmerman, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Building Commissioner Bill Gavin,
Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman, Fire Chief Mike
Smith, Animal Shelter Representative Rick Broy, Assistant
Redevelopment Director Jennifer Mead, and Clerk Suzy Bass.

the subdivision. Evidently, some of the houses were bu~it too close
tc the drainage ditches. After much discussion about what the
ls, who ls to blame and what can be done, Mayor Galllgan blamed th~
<!eve!;~per Mr. Alan Schuler. He sald that he did not like Mr. Schule'
and to be quite frank if he never bt~ilt another house or subdivisi<n

the ground that the son of a bitch walks on". After fur t he.r
d~.sc~ission, Mayor Galligan informed the residents that the CiEy
studylng the drainage and will come up with a comprehensive plan on

present that the City will not issue any more building permits to

INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT CLAIMS
Assr.Redevelopment Director Mead presented the Board with two claims
from Jacobi Tombs and Lanz for approval for the lnterlocal portion of
the interclty road design project and one for the Jeffersonville
portion. She also presented a claim for approval from Greenbaum
Associates. The motion was made by Engineer Miller to approve the
claims as presented seconded by Director Lakeman and carried
unanimously.
TAP-IN
Columissloner Gavli9 r~queated from the Board a sewer tap-in for Silver
Cveek Business Center. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve
the tap-in seconded by Engineer Hiller. Comm~ssioner Gavin said that
the manhole has not been fixed. After further discussion, Directcr
Lakeman made the motion to resciud the motLon seconded by Engineer
MJ]ior and approved unanimously. Mayor Galllga;~ said that more

Attorney Sedwick presented the Board with bids that were taken at a
~uevious BPW meezinG. She recommended Ehat the Boesd accept the low
O~d on each item. Her recommendations are as follows: Oil and Fuel -
Makowsky Oil; SeileusbL~ug Stone had the to~ bid for crushed limestone
an~ coal patch; the low bid for the actual paving, including the
p~tmec is f~cm Gohmaan Asphalt, providing that Gohmann A£phalt will
emter into a hold harmless agreement and show the City as an added
named insured as all ls ~equired by the requirements for bids; and as
the iow bid to be plcked up at the plant is Ashpalt Supply. The
motion was made by Engineer Miller to approve these bids seconded by
D~rectoc Lakeman and carried unanimously.

ETHICS DISCLOSURE FORMS
Attorney Sedwick asked all the Department Heads to file an ethics
disclosure form by February 1, 1997. Also anyone in the department
who does major purchasing needs to file a form.
There being no further business to come before the.Board of Public
Works and Safety, Director Lakeman made the motion to adjourn at 10:26
