JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1998
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members
present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman.
Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Street
Commissioner Bobby Ervin, Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Police Chief Mike Pavey,
Redevelopment Secretary Donna Kammeyer,Wastewater Treatment Assistant Director Traylor,
parks Superintendent Rick Elliott, Planning and Development Director Jana Ecker, Animal
Shelter Asst. Manager Rick Broy, City Attorney Galligan, and Clerk Lynne Kempf.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 12-07-98 as presented,
seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.
Sewage Office Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the payroll as presented,
seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
STREET LIGHT
Mayor Galligan said there isn't enough light on the street by the alley across from Coots Funeral
Home. City Engineer Miller will take care of it.
STREET LIGHT
City Engineer Miller made the motion to put a street light up at 12th and Wall St., seconded by
Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.
INTER-CITY ROAD CLAIMS
Redevelopment Secretary Kammeyer presented a claim from Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz for the
Allison Lane Phase 1 Project in the amount of $988.84. Sewage Office Manager Goldman made
the motion to approve the payment of $988.84 to Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz, seconded by
Engineer Miller and carded unanimously.
1524 NORTHAVEN DRIVE
Manager Goldman said he had sent a letter to the resident of 1524 Northaven Dr. for
non-payment of the sewage bill. The resident called Mr. Goldman upset because last year she had
a sewer back-up that she said she received no help from the city on. Her insurance company
refused to pay the claim because they said her problem was from surface water. Manager
Goldman said her back-up was caused by a chunk of Concrete that was put in the manhole.
Manager Goldman asked her to send him a copy of the response from her insurance company
and maybe the city could help her with her insurance claim.
There being no further buSiness to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City
Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Sewage Office Manager
Goldman and carded unanimously.
