HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-16-1998MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 1998 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman. Also present were: Fire Chief Mike Smith, Police Chief Mike Pavey,Wastewater Treatment Assistant Director Traylor, Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott, Building Commissioner Larry Decker, Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor Mike Ewton, Planning and Development Director Jana Ecker, City Attorney Anne Made Galligan, and Clerk Lynne Kempf. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carded unanimously. INDUSTRIAL DISCHARGE PERMIT Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Director Traylor recommended that the Board approve an Industrial Discharge Permit for Brinly-Hardy Company. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the permit, seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carried unanimously. STREET LIGHT REQUEST City Engineer Miller said Janet Lindley has requested a street light be put up at Preservation Station behind the Evening News. She said people are breaking in. Mayor Galligan said the light will be put up. NO PARKING SIGN City Engineer Miller said that Mr. Coomer who owns Ann's On The River is asking for a no parking sign in front of his property across the street. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the no parking sign, seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carded unanimously. RESOLUTION City Attorney Galligan asked the Board to approve a resolution requiring a waiver of remonstrance for outside-the-City tap-in. City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the resolution, seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.
