JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MONDAY, OCTOBER 5, 1998
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members
present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman.
Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Fire Chief Mike Smith, Street
Commissioner Bobby Ervin, Police Chief Mike Pavey,Wastewater Treatment Assistant Director
Traylor, Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott, Animal Shelter Asst. Manager Rick Broy, City
Attorney Anne Marie Galligan, and Clerk Lynne Kempf.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claims as presented, seconded by Sewage
Office Manager Goldman and carried unanimously.

3608 HOLMAN'S LANE-STREET LIGHTS
City Engineer Miller reported that he has scheduled a meeting for this on Wednesday.
BID OPENING-SPRING STREET INTERSECTION & STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS
Nathan Grimes of Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz opened two bids. The bidders were Mac
Construction with a bid of $1,140,195.60 and Team Contracting with a bid of $756,000.00. City
Engineer Miller made the motion to take the bids under advisement, seconded by Manager
Goldman and carded unanimously.
Jorge Lanz announced that the hid opening for the Keystone Project is scheduled for October 19,
1998.
DRAINAGE DITCH-3502 HOLMAN'S LANE
A resident of Holman's Lane spoke to the board in regards to a drainage ditch that needs to be
cleaned out, as well as one on Hammond's Lane. Mayor Galligan said these concerns would be
looked into.
RESOLUTION
City Attorney Galligan said that on September 21, 1998 a Resolution was adopted condemn/ng
some property for the storm drainage pipes to be run from the Loma Vista/Middle Road area
down to the river. As part of this condemnation, a list was established of injuriously affected
interests and established damages to the persons involved. This condemnation is on one parcel of
property which is owned by Forrest Harlow. The property was appraised by Richard Crum and
appraised at $3,000 total value. Manager Goldman made the motion to approve the Resolution
establishing a list of injuriously affected interests and establishing damages with Mr. Harlow
being the owner of the property that was appraised with total damages of $3,000.00, seconded by
Engineer Miller and carded unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety, City
Engineer Miller made the motion to adj0um at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Sewage Office Manager
Goldman and carded unanimously.
